Hmmm. I know I'll probably get verbally lynched for this, but I've never really considered Andy to be a very good writer, so I shan't be jumping back on board for this.

Tbh, the only reason I really stopped getting Hellblazer before the end of Mike Carey's run (which I enjoyed immensely), was the messing about I got from Kathies Comics as they were going bankrupt.

I must confess, I haven't picked up any of Andy's US stuff, but I did think that the sample pics looked verrry nice.

Cheers

Glad it's back in the hands of a "known" Brit writer, not sure what Andy has planned, or if it's his thang, but I wish him well.

BTW PJ Holden is drawing a new one-shot for Image, that's written by Mike Carey. It's solicited in the latest Previews, but I forget what it's called.
Cheers

No, no he isn't. Mike's got a couple of reprints coming out from Image, first published by Negative Burn - my 10 pager (Suicide Kings) was drawn in ... about ... uhm... 1997? so, you know... if you extrapolate from the current quality of my art and subtract 10 years worth of practice, you'll have an idea of what to expect.

No lynching here - I was thoroughly turned off his writing part-way through "The Losers" and have been unimpressed by his work since.

Most important question about his "Hellblazer" - will it feature a heist?

;-)

Heh, how long have you been waiting for someone to mention it?

Didn't realise it was a reprint. "Mike Carey's One-sided Bargains" 64pages B/W art by PJ Holden and Mike Perkins.

Well, 86ers artwork is great stuff at the moment. What's next for the PJ-droid?
Cheers

There are worse writers about than Andy Diggle.
I started out liking the last volume of the Losers, mainly because of the shameless cribbing of the origins of Cobra Island from Action Force Weekly when I was a nipper.  Brought some fond memories back, that - "Go, American oil interests!".  Then it all went pear-shaped with the evil twins whose backstory was eerily similar to piss-takes of bad comics.
"Fuck you, corporation man!" is also possibly the most ironic thing I've ever read from someone who started his writing career in a marginal British comic and who now writes pretty much anything going for the largest comics company in the world today.  Did someone clone Dabnett and not tell me?

More 86ers, and, fingers crossed, something else.

He's also doing Green Arrow with Jock.

Personally I'm with Wils, his writings never done all that much for me, but it can pretty much be guaranteed that any book he works on will have good art.

All i know of Diggle's work is Lenny Zero, which is/was superb!
I should really branch out beyond 2000AD...
