I didn't think he hated Tharg and perhaps 2000AD so much.

Couldn't help but think to mysel he meant Slaine when he said Defoe.

It's all part of the magic that is Pat. While other writers may create elaborate fantasies about themselves to entice gullible teenage fuckwits into believing they actually are magicians, or whatnot, or cultivate a cut of personality based upon wearing lots of black and shades indoors like some Happy Shopper Bono, Pat just writes. None of that bollocks for Mr Mills- interview him about his work and he'll talk about his work. He'll mince no words and will continue with his agenda to the best of his ability: and as a working writer, part of his agenda is selling his wares.

Enjoyed that little interview, for what it was.

I'd just like to clarify(if needed)ythat my criticism was of the format, not the interviewee. I love Pat's work and I appreciate the "interview" was more of a media soundbite, I would just prefer a longer, proper interview. Pat Mills always gives good copy, maybe a feature in The Meg would serve him best.

I thought he came across as quite grumpy and very full of himself. I always prefer to see Pat Mills on the telly just talking, like in Here's Johnny, rather than answering questions on the page. He comes across as a much warmer person when he's given room to talk.

I've been party to interviewing Pat a couple of times, and he's a... challenging interviewee. I think that in print, the fierce passion he has for what he does can come across as arrogance and/or rudeness.

Thats interesting to watch. It's sort of been a step by step process, seeing his work first up, then seeing his photograph on one of the back covers of either volume of Titan released "Slaine: Horned God" graphic novels. Then hearing his radio interveiw on Resonance and then the seeing ands hearing on that little video commenting on some artwork, just now.

You can be sure it's him who's being interveiwed when you see him on the telly.

He's comes across as being a laid back, such a relaxed fellow. I guess all his surplus goes into his work. Well most of it anyway.
