One of the best covers ever form WestonDroid, there. Also, reminds me of that Strontium Dog one by Colin McNeil, which is one of my top ten covers of all time (well, since 1977!)

It's a shame as well , because it's going to take a truly magnificent cover to beat this one for cover of the year. And we're only in February  :o
...because I hate you.

Fekkin' BEAUTIFUL Tiernen Trevallion cover on the blog. Look at those inks, it's like somone has put O'Neill, McMahon and Jock in a blender! The man is a genius.

Finally got round to downloading my latest batch of 2000ADs and JD Megs from Clickwheel and was able to see Trevallion's Prog 1767 cover in all its glory. On my large PC screen it looked fantastic and I was immediately reminded of McMahon's scratchy inkwork. Much as I admire the amazing skill and craftmanship of some of the "photo-realistic" covers we get, I prefer the more stylised "comic-book" art style such as this one.

Ben Willsher's cover has finally made it to my blog. It's not often I disagree with the wisdom of the mighty Tharg but I fooking love Ben's original design:

Check out Ben's brilliant commentary on the blog...

Dunno if anyone else is as dense as me but I contacted Carlos and he mentioned that in the prog Hector is inking his work, then Carlos is colouring. I feel like a fool, I thought Hectore was doing the colouring

Me too, actually. It's an easy enough assumption, considering most artists working on British work tend to ink their own work.* Those who work in colour would often colour it too, but you're more likely to find a different colourist than a different inker, if you get what I mean.

Not worth feeling idiotic about as the credits never state who did what.

*One think that struck me about comic artists across the pond is that compartmentalisation seems much more common. I remember speaking with Colin MacNeil in the yap shop some while back and he saw pros and cons with both methods.

That's true, but remember this is a family affair, so sometimes he'll help me with inking, colouring, or wathever I need, or even sometimes I'll do everything by myself, if he has work outside.

That makes sense Mr Ezquerra.

Anyway, your work together looks great. I'm enjoying the latest Strontium Dog story a lot.

The lovely Leigh Gallagher gave me permission to steal images for this weeks' cover from his blog. I nicked a few but not all so please go and read Leigh's version of how the cover was made here:

Thanks Pete for letting me know. I've not had much time of late to read through the blogs. Need to rush out and buy the other cover version to keep my collection complete.
