Really? Wasn't it uncomfy having something that fizzy up your bum? How did you manage to get it administered? Did you keep it there for a while or “spit” it out  right away?

It was administered orally. If you want a caffeine hit i would recommend raw Cocao.I find none of the energy drinks have any effect.Waste of time and money.

Ah! Right! Misunderstood your reply. Soz. Are you affected by coffee or tea?

I hardly ever drink tea or coffee but strong expresso probably has some effect.Tea has no effect whatsoever.

I have just tried to coax out a splinter with some cheese but to no avail.
Thank you for your shit advise David ;)

If you get a toothpick and push it further in it should pop out. Might hurt a bit, though.

Leave it for a few days and it will pop out on its own due to the surrounding pus that will have developed due to the cells dying around it.

Managed to get it out using my sharp wit.

Likely a high tolerance of caffeine.

Pete has a point, might've been an idea to introduce himself first but I have to say, I don't think DocktorJ was treated properly.

I did actually introduce myself a few weeks ago, but since the site was updated my posts seem to have been lost. I specifically remember certain members greeting me with a very welcoming atmosphere, such as Kerrin, Bouwel, and Godpleton, who memorabably proclaimed himself "The best thing in my life!" and a follow-up thread asking for recommendations on  other comics was met with pleasant helpfulness from the likes of Al Ewing and Spooky The Cat.

My problem isn't the fact that I was a dumbass, and failed to see that DavidXBrunt was taking the piss. I take responsibility for everything i did to my ipod.

My problem is that I thought DavidxBrunt was being genuinely helpful, more fool me. I'm very sorry if I don't know about the inner workings of an ipod. I assumed anyone posting a response to my query would do so with a helpful mind and a community-spirit. DavidXBrunt, I don't know where you live, but if you came to Manchester where I live, I would give you directions to wherever you wnated to go. HOWEVER; If you asked for directions to the MEN arena, and I deliberately and purposefully sent you in the wrong direction, just for fun and my own entertainment, would you not be pissed off at me? Would you not, I dare say,  want to give me a smack in the chops? WWDD?  I admit i was dumb to follow your initial advice on pushing the headphone jack in further. However, to a layman like me, it sounds like a reasonable failsafe that Apple might incorporate. You should realise that your funny little joke has reral-world repurcussions. About 40 progs worth of repurcussions!

Sorry for any spelling mistakes; Real ale takes its toll. 'Reral' reads "real", amongst other drnken phlange-based errors...

Ok. Didn't realise that posts were deleted when the site was updated, DocktorJ. I am glad that you had a good initial welcome. I find that pretty much everyone who regularly posts on this board is friendly and genuinely helpful.

It's one thing to make a joke but to give 'advice' that can only cause someone more hassle isn't on. All I'll say is that clicking the 'Show the last posts of this person' link in a member's profile and reading some of the posts gives a quick insight.

Regarding the iPod, I would give a company such as Micro Anvika a call to get an idea of how much it might cost to repair it. I think they have a branch in Manchester. In Selfridges I think. Might turn out to be pricey though. If the iPod is a write-off they might be able to retrieve whatever music etc you had loaded on it.

Oh, you know here I thought you were mad at the cheese bit - I was completely fooled by the pushng the jack in further instructions as well. This entire time I had been thinking something had gone way over my head - well, it had, just not in the way I thought! Sorry for misjudging you, doktor.

Hurray!  All is calm, all is bright and another happy day in Twothtown comes to an end. *image of sun with mean angel's gurning face setting behind landfill site hills of rubbish accompanied by lullaby-style music played by Nemesis on that pandemonium thingy*

Yeah, I watched teletubbies recently with my nephew.  AND?

(MEN arena - sounds like a nightclub *snort, chuckle*)

Hope the mp3 player isn't too damaged and, if I failed to welcome you initially (dreadful oversight on my part) then welcome aboard.

Group hug you guys.

Stupid as this might make me sound I'm with you there. I really thought this was a bit of an over reaction to a silly bit of fun and I was keeping out the way as I didn't feel I had anything to add. If the pushing in suggestion was malicious, intentionally or otherwise, that's bang out of order and you're complelely due an apology.

Come on David have a bit of backbone come on and either explain that it was a genuine error or at least have the courage to admit you were wrong and apologise.

The first part actually did work for my brother. He pushed it and it popped out of his.

The cheese thing was meant to be a joke to lighten the situation after you'd failed in your mission.

You know what this means, of course?

Colin will have to show a bit of backbone and either explain his genuine error or at least have the courage to admit he was wrong and apologise to you.

Nah, nowt to it.

My brother told me it worked for him, I passed it on. My part over, and hey, I'm sorry for my part in it.

Attempting to lighten things with a surreal joke? There's a mistake.

Trust me when I say that'd be more interesting (and probably easier to park at).

Now, I'm not one of your fancy city techy sort of guys (holds lapels..) so there's nothing I can add to the broken jack saga except to say that I hope you work out a way of fixing it.

But... But... The Cheese thing was comedy genius and should have been treated as such.
