Keep telling yourself 'this too shall pass', Trouty.  Three months in and our youngest is finally sleeping a good 10-stretch two out of three nights.  And as Bart once said, "there's a 5 o'clock in the morning now?'.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that Trout!

(Pete, daughter sixteen months old, still up three times a night... They tell me it's a sign of intelligence that she doesn't sleep, it doesn't sound like it to me if she can't suss that nightime is for sodding sleeping!)

TS, any chance you could get my baby son to stop crying?

Yes, I am posting at 5am.  :(

- Trout

From my lack of experience with real children, I will give you advice based on what I have learned from playing Sims Two

Change his cloths,

Change his nappy,

Give him some warm milk, and make sure it's that stuff makes him a child prodigy. Thats would be Smart MIlk

It helps if you have the Milk Centrifuge Machine ( On a Aspiration Reward) and all your moods have to be up to atleast yellow-white or you end making Dumb Milk

It glows red.

By him a toy.

Read to him, talk to him, teach him to do this as well.

Make sure he has lots of educational toys.

Teach him to walk.

Potty Train him.

Make sure he gets enough sleep.

Let the wife take over every once and a while.

Hire a Nanny and Maid and a Gardener, Pest Control Person, and Bartender.

Order a Pizza and throw a party.

Invite your girlfrind over, but make sure your wife and baby are in the other room when you want to be alone with her.

You can tell I play this game too much.

Trouty: as you were foolish enough to ask for it, I think it only fair that you follow T/S's advice to the letter and report back to us the results.

He's not wrong, you know.

Ow, I just felt a crippling psychic pain in my crotch area.

I actalley meant looking after the kid ;)

And don't be offended by my advice, thats how I really play the game. It gets boring otherwise.

Argh! I think I was supposed to get him yellow milk but I got him red!

I couldn't find a milk centrifuge machine either.

I'm such a crap dad!

Something I forgot to add before, concerning advice inspired from the Sims Two

Speak to them through a stuffed bear.

Advice for rearing infants and toddlers based on Slaine.

Feed them red meat from the tip of a broad sword.

Me neither.  I tried spinning the wife around the room really, really fast, but the baby had real difficulty latching on, and to be honest I don't think it was helping any of us get to sleep.
