I love reading Moore interviews, he really is an artist isint he? He is principled, is proud of his work, and  has been said naive.
You cant always have your cake and eat it, so the book is in print, take the cash, offered the rights to it, take it, so the original can never be dismembered into a pirate comic. In 50 years time nothing but the original will be remembered.
Gibbons is coming out a bit bad in this, remember he co created this Alan, you didnt hire him. If he is excited about his work been made into a film, its not much to do with Steve Moore getting work, even if it had, its not Gibbons fault.
Moore refused the money, he could have asked for it to be given to charity, but he said to give it to the cocreator. Co-Creator is the word(?) here, if they wernt personal friends would he be pissed off? Take the money, if you dont want it, its not of concern where it goes.

This on the other hand is what make Moore a truly unique creator, he isint after the lure of the page rate of x men, he is I belive after the story, and ther sint too many bad Moore ones out there.

Have to say I don't like the look of the Owl Ship in those drawings.

I'm not a big fan of the film (it's alright) but the owl ship was spot on in it.

Greengrass' version was not meant to be the same, they were trying to do their own version and Night Owl was the character whose look changed the most. I prefer the idea that the Owl base is an old subway station and that really comes through in these designs.

It more than likely would have been a better film had Greengrass made it. Greengrass knows how to move a film, whereas Snyder's version feels leaden with no pace because he tried to copy the comic storyline too slavishly.

Whenever I read or see an interview with Alan Moore he comes across, by and large as a genuine, intelligent and considered man. I say by and large however as he does tend to also make very sweeping statements that fracture his credibility.

Saying all current comic writers 'Hacks' is insulting, when he does so after having admitted he doesn't read comics any more makes it ridiculous. He's made similar statements about film. Its completely fine that he doesn't like modern comics or film and choices not to involve himself with them, but then if thats the case its difficult for him to offer such sentiments.

Also he calls 'Watchmen' a game changer (or some such) and while it is a significant piece of work it is amongst several that created the change in comics. He gets very focused on the impact of his work for hire while loosing sight of the fact that its just one piece of a body of work that was changing the game at the time. Some of which was work for hire, some creator owned, he had a choice by this point.

Finally he makes some very sweeping judgments about the motives of others.

I find him an intriguing man but I disagree wit much of what he says, in interview at least.

Radbacker - the Greengrass version does indeed sound truly diabolical, and I still think the Snyder flick isn't a complete failure.(I particularly like the opening scene of brutal violence plus Nat King Cole).  I have to say the inevitable though - No Giant Squid. I was gutted.  Any sequel that features the extra-dimensional tentacled horror is alright with me.  Getting daft now, I know.
