TOP TRUMPS 2000AD editions
« on: 15 April, 2010, 02:30:43 PM »
I was reading radbackers response on the prog thread when it struck me, I didn't know if there were any 2000ad top trump cards.

Are there such things out there?

Should there be New editions?

I love TT. Does anyone else think it'd be a worthwhile venture?

I was thinking the Nikolai Dante set would be rather awesom.

The Judge Dredd pack would be epic. So maybe;

Judge Dredd: Mega City
Judge Dredd: Cursed Earth

SDTT

Nemesis Edition (including ABCs)

ABC Warriors

Slaine

Before I continue making an ass out of myself, are there any out there?

There is an electronic version on Barney.
Also on the back of the early 2000AD's there was a cut out and keep version (I think).

Ahah! Good one, meanie.   :D Just goes to show how much fun they are to make up! Out of interest is "willingness to pay for IPAD" stronger the higher or weaker the higher they are willing to pay?

I was going to PM you CF before posting this to check whether it was worth bring the subject up. So glad you swooped in this quick.

I remember doing some cards at the Bristol Expo and casually discussing this as a good idea.

You see you could have Dimitri and his CREST POWER against Arkady's.Then something like CHARISMA at which Dante'll win every time. His cunning only usurped by Vladimer or Arkady. You can have all the Ladies. Frag it have a SEXINESS rating for all the characters. They are so much fun.

Strontium Dogs could have a bounty rating, Stealth. RESOURCEFULNESS. WEAPONRY.

What set would you like to see being made and what suggestion do you have for any of the rankings?

Many years ago when Top Trumps first camme out and were something of a craze at shool, my gran bought me a pack. Probably at random, becuase I ended up with possibly the most boring set in existence. While all my friends had tanks or racing cars, I had 'commercial shipping' - tonnage, length etc for oil tankers and cargo ships.

Had to really.

Used to have BOTH sets of the Horror ones as a kid! Still fighting the urge to re-buy on ebay even though they are about £40 a pop now.

I had 2 or 3 packs of those cards with cars on them and that type of thing but i didnt know what you were supposed to do with them other than read them and look at the pictures.

I have the Top Trumps of... Trumps. After that a Dredd one seems a no-brainer.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Ha! Trust you PierreLycanth! Actually so did I till I was 16

Seriously though...@bluemeanie... is paying more for a IPAD stronger or weaker, as I've got Gibson here who's willing to pay 2G ...?

What list of stats would you put Emp?

DREDD
Letter of the Law-----------2000
Corruption---------------------0
Strength----------------------30
Agility------------------------9
Brains-------------------------7
Quickdraw---------------------98%
Accuracy---------------------100%

MCGRUDER
Letter of the Law-----------1500
Corruption---------------------4
Strength----------------------17
Agility------------------------0
Brains------------------------10
Quickdraw---------------------38%
Accuracy----------------------88%

??For example.

T be honest I haven't put any thought into that at all. These seem good:

DREDD
Letter of the Law-----------2000
Corruption---------------------0
Strength----------------------30
Agility------------------------9
Brains-------------------------7
Quickdraw---------------------98%
Accuracy---------------------100%

MCGRUDER
Letter of the Law-----------1500
Corruption---------------------4
Strength----------------------17
Agility------------------------0
Brains------------------------10
Quickdraw---------------------38%
Accuracy----------------------88%

??For example.

Although a little too like RPG stats and you might want to have some more fun with them.

Lawfulness is a given.

Sanity would seem a good one.

Hotness?

Ah, the ol' Top Trumps cards. I used to love these as a lad. Most of the decks around, in my day, were to do with cars or feckin' tanks. It was only in later life that I picked up genre-based decks, such as Marvel heroes and Buffy.

Great fun, mind, regardless of the topic.  :)

Simple, really. You read out a stat from the card on the top of your deck - your opponent(s) then read out the same stat on their card. Winner takes all and gets to choose the next stat. Repeat ad nauseum until only one person holds cards.
