Its got fit birds in it and Nazis and Dragons and Ninjas and Explosions and loads of CGI in it and LOADS of action !!!
Waitaminute...

The swine's ripped off Fractal Friction!

We don't have any ninjas (although do they? We don't have samurai either, although there is a scene awfully like one I've written in an unproduced script) but we will be suing over everything else. Cheeky gets.

Love the industrial rock/techno muzak in the trailer !!

Here is the original:

They've done a good job cutting out the words as they are filth (and weird).
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

I can completely see where Al is coming from by shooting down the trailer. It does look massively shallow, and is indeed just a heap of fast-cut "COWABUNGA DUDE!" action images and pervery BUT I enjoyed it. I'm exactly the kind of person these trailers are aimed at as while I like intelligent cinema as much as the next guy, if you flash me some hot chicks with swords and the odd giant robo-battle I'll get excited about it.

Mind you, that kind of attention-grabbing only works on me in a trailer, if the movie itself turns out to have no substance I'll be bored as hell. Snyder's stuff tends to look amazing but feel really empty and there's every chance this will suffer horribly from that. For now though, I'm perfectly happy to enjoy it as a really cool music video with some totty and 'splosions in.

I think at this point we all need to take a step back. Take a few deep breaths and come to one main conclusion.

Its not going to be as intellectually stimulating or thought provoking as Dead or Alive

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yW9r8AcT6Q

as long as we all go in with our expectations suitably tailored to that fact, we'll all be fine

Kind of what I think too. This trailer was one big does of WTF??? for me.
That said, 300 was as empty as they come, and I bloody love it.

Meh.  For some reason it reminds me of the worst excesses of anime where things happen with no logical reason, like a certain character is written into a corner and seemingly killed only to start glowing and develop magic space powers that send the bad guys away and brings back the dead - stuff just happens and that's all the story you're going to get.
I think there's only so far the 'dumb fun' defence can stretch in any given medium before you have to concede that things have to adhere to some kind of consistent internal logic, otherwise why get invested?  Going by that promo, there's no internal logic on display: physics don't apply, the cast barely register as human beings and cultural anachronisms abound, such as a 1950s girl knowing about the visual specifics of ninja fighting techniques that only came to prominence in the west after the 1970s kung-fu boom, so even "it's all a dream" starts to fall apart as a rationale.

But if the thread is a straw poll of any note, most seem to accept this will be a hollow parade of CGI imagery and the truly dumb thing would be to apply any kind of logical thought to its analysis.

Its curious how since CGI has really taken off the films themselves have become dumber and dumber. Not always though obviously but this film looks to be far too cynical as if the plot was a long list of tickboxes.

Pretty girls - Check

Aged between 16 and 21 - check

Explosions - Check

Girls that kick ass - check

Giant Japanese big stomping robots - check

Samuris and ninjas - check and the list goes on and on and on.........

All gloss and no substance.
Worthing Bazaar - A fete worse than death

I also feel that no criticism can stand in the face of the bunny robot defense. If anything its an even more compelling argument than the saucy outfit second from the left.
