This:
IF it were something along those lines then, yes- that would be shit.
But it's possible that it was something that was done to verify if any of the ban-ees was Sc*j*.
and this:
The thing is, you weren't banned, were you? Your account was suspended while the admins tried to work out whether you (and a slew of other new posters, which is, I suspect, why the process took longer than usual) were actually a long-standing troll who has a lifetime ban from this forum. And, to be clear, your posts looked a lot like Scott's.
It was, I believe, a Friday, colder than usual for that time of year and the reports were flying in over three accounts. As the other admins (who are more experienced Scojo-Hunters - now there is an idea for a series, the Johns Wagner and Smith could come up with something good for that I'm sure) were a little scarce over the weekend I slapped on 3 day bans after a quick consultation. The evidence suggested you weren't Scojo (although if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck you do have to wait for the DNA tests to come in before you can go and crispy it up and get the pancakes out) while the other two likely were, so the ban lapsed while the other two were kicked up to permanent.
Sorry for the inconvenience but there is one obsessive loon and a lot of spambots so people do occasionally get caught in the crossfire - it is either this or nothing I'm afraid.
