The composition's a bit odd for a cover, but it could work with a bit more effort than my two minutes in Photoshop:

Out of 221 pages surely it would not have been much of a problem finding a panel that represents the strip for the cover ?

That would have involved a little more thought rather than simply choosing a pin up.

Well... there's the one I just posted, Pete. At least it's by Belardinelli.

I hate to say it but i am not that mad on those two pieces but as we are talking about a cover my own personal view of it doesnt factor into it that much. There is also the cover art to prog 183 + 227 and its curious how such a long running strip only made two front covers.Anyway there would have been the choice of coloring a panel from the strip for the cover or adding a layer of color over an existing piece of B+W art [in the style of the case files] which if i was designing the cover i may have tried that out but i think in the case of the art itself adding color to it would detract from it as it speaks for itself in B+W and doesnt need color apart from the idea that some share which is colored art is intrinsically more interesting simply because its colored and that B+W art is boring which i disagree with entirely.

Prog 227 cover may have been suitable except that it doesnt show off any of the other characters besides Stone and Leeshar so it isnt that representative.

I have a couple of panels from this strip that i reproduced/copied like for like to post in the art thread later tonight.
