Judge Dredd 2, to be released in january 2012, features karl urban in the role made famous by sylvester stallone. This is a sequel/reboot/remake directed by danny boyle who previously made 28 days later and its sequel 48 weeks later, or bums of the dead.
Judge dredd the cartoon first appeared in the year 2000, five years after stallone's film, and has since gone on to be a mainstay of popular british weekly childrens comic, the sylvester stallone megazine; which also features comic strip escadapes of rocky, rambo and stop or my mom will shoot.
The sequel, made in hollywood for a blockbusting $450M, is expected to feature a classic rogues gallery including judge death (a zombie who believes everyone must die) and dredd's evil mother, ma-ma.
mckenzie crook is expected to play judge death, and other actors involved include alan dale and rob schneider- recreating his classic role of fergee, the smelly king, from the 95 original.
