mercury
« on: 04 August, 2011, 01:32:34 PM »
hello guys, just a quick post. i'm currently writing a 4 parter superhero comic called 'Mercury' (im currently on issue 3) myself and the artist (mr matt white) are going to be self publishing it and we are going to launch it at mcm expo in october. the best way i think i'd describe the story is if you imagine the grittiness of watchmen mixed with the fantastcal elements of more classic stuff like superman and spiderman.we've got a favebook and a twitter set up for it www.twitter.com/MERCURYcomic  where there's links to artwork and a synopsis so if you get 5 mins maybe you could take a look?
thanks
stu

Can you post a link so i can read the first issue?

The twitter thing is quite confusing. I just want to read what you've done.

Honest opinion will follow.

I'll be honest, what you have put on Twitter etc does not make me want to pay to read an issue.

If you want opinions, offer the first one free, and if people get hooked they willpay to read the rest of the story.

Preview pages don't draw you in. Give us ten or more pages in sequence so we can decide whether we want to pay to read more.

At the moment, you've made a comic and there is no real impetus for us to pay to read it, as we have no idea of what to expect.

This isn't rocket science. You have no track record, you are just a newbie who has made a comic. You can't sell it online based on sketches and random pages. If you truly believe in it (as I think you do), give us something to get our teeth into, to make us want more!

I love comics, but I have not had any evidence that I would love yours. Give me some.

gah! Facebook requires me to make friends! FFS, just a "like" page would be more productive.
