Well I couldn't disagree more. This prog is back on the tracks and gliding along as if they're are freshly lubed.
All the stories are challenging the fast and furious fixation of the prog. And I think X did do Y in it too. This is the Prog where... well I'll come to that. Firstly who's goit it in for which graphic designers? And why?
I just love the cover. Not too far away from Dr Who's opwn crack in reality with the Tooth seeping it's own ideas of what will be crawling after yers.
And no two dimensions for PJ either. The opener caught me of kilter immediately with the Ah moment
clicking in at the suggestion of PJ scotching the Judge involvement. And then I was glad he was still up for it. But with suggestions of upping his game. And Dredd knowing exactly that. And lovely art by Flint. Nice female judge bums toying with my imagination the Mr Flint. Good one of Beeny too, with funny dialogue thrown in.
Ampney Crutches is arlright for mega crazy whacked out action anyway. I mean, where are we? Surviving an alternative parallel dimension. Are we having fun yet? I like the development with Cromwell too. And SD can draw, man. He pushes the limit to where he says that's when I become just another parrot artist after the next line. Right?
And here I'd noticed the excellent editing skills of the editor in charge of story placements.
The onset of Indigo Prime was welcomed by the warm up given my mind by Ampney. I was ready for it- a load of guff and great art. I'm loving it. I love the fact everyone in the prog are enjoying their stories and characters and plots. It really shows and the flow you're getting from inside the covers shows a team well into their game. I enjoyed bewilderbeast chasing for several pages of parallel universes. The switching between them and the hub of the plt was masterful. They made it look easy. Which brings me to my moment of iconic. One day I'll be remembering when I first saw the phrase. "Nice one. Umpteen's my lucky number. " And in what context it was put.
Great domestic, mystery, action from Angel Zero in continuation. Is she a robot? Is she a xenomorph? There're echoes of Bladerunner running thick amongst these panels. But the Oriental connection nearly pile drives it straight into Low Life too. John Burns's art seems a bit drain of red this week and green is flooding all of his tones. Again, everyone involved are relaxed and enjoying their particular tasks in hand.
Which brings me to the idiot savants of Low Life. The picture of divinty laced with the twists of mind control or madness are magnificent details. It almost has the innocence of Kingdom of the Wicked this episode. With the sinister undertone bubbling blacky at the corners. How this changes the Wally Squad along this timeline is enthralling me.
Yeh. Letters. Has somebody spelt Grant Groggins's name wrong?
