Well that's me done the main quest and the Civil War. Possibly one of my most pleasing (gaming) experiences  attacking the Imperial Forts by calling a friendly Dragon, a hero of Sovngarde, a Dremora Lord and of course Lydia to do the Dragonborn's bidding. They had no chance!  :D

Woooo!

I am an Imperial, but despite my distaste for Ulfric, I am edging towards his cause, without really having any particular reason. I think it may depend on the Thalmor. They seem a bit more pally with the Imperials (sommat to do with Talos) and I like an underdog. Although I don't like terrorists. But I REALLY hate the cunting Thalmor.

After my last mission that involved them went a bit wrong (a rescue mission that turned into a charnel-house) I'm afraid that last night's visit to the Thalmor Embassy, to find evidence of something or other, (which I suppose was meant to be a bit more "stealth/ speechcraft/ sneaky) also, sadly, went awry.

I collected my stashed gear (armour, weapons etc) and then blundered into a group of them who immediately attacked me, despite not EQUIPPING any of it! Well, I was rather left with no choice, so a few minutes later, after much chopping, hacking and decapitating, I was knee-deep in elf-blood and corpses. Again.

Oh well.

A similar thing happened to me with that quest, I had left the main story for a couple of weeks to go exploring and then cam back to it but I had forgotten to give my gear to the guy to stash.
luckily there is a woodcutter's axe in the kitchen so I had to use that to butcher the first couple of elves and pinch their gear.

mog, you must be my soul something, I just became guild master today too  :D

still not got the achievement for the jobs, goes on forever!

Gathering a few bugged quests myself, can't seem to carry on the companions cos there's a wolf in a cave that was already dead, so won't die for the quest. What else? Some woman's mother. I seem to have broken the quest cos I went in the back way and killed her before the quest started or something.

I think I'm going to hit a few bugged quests myself later on, I have spent so long just exploring and clearing out random caves that it's bound to cause problems down the line.

At least with the PC version you can use console commands to spawn items and people etc and I'm pretty sure you can use it to restart quests too.

Hooray, I got married!

She's a great companion  :D

For that or some other bizarre reason, Lydia won't carry anything anymore, she can handle her Daedric armour and stuff but won't accept any more. Possibly a result of stealing her clothes and putting them back, or doing that console thing, but in any case, Aela does AND she's a shop AND she make me a pie every day AND trains me in Archery AND has an infinite list of jobs for me to do  :o

Yep, bug...

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim_talk:Followers#Follower_Carry_Weight

Can get round it all on the console (PC console that is, not an actual "console" as in PS3)

Makes sense as it was aaaaaages before I dismissed Lydia. Aela already has 2 sets of Ancient Nord. Hopefully that'll be fixed in 1.4, due pretty soon I think.

I finally finished Skyrim's main quest last night and will be now be calling it a day. Arkham City is next up...

It began to get a bit monotonous and wordy - but after logging 154 hours of wonder, adventure and marriage(!) I can't really complain...!

I want to marry Lydia, so that my trusty companion can also be my wife and lover, but despite equipping that Amulet of Mara, she doesn't seem interested.

How can I get her to become Mrs Brenno The Dragonborn? Do I have to dismiss her from service as a companion?

To be honest, I'm not really having much luck on the love front. The only interest so far has been a male innkeeper, and I think I need to set my sights a bit higher.

As for Lydia not carrying anything, perhaps the weighty Daedric armour as well as all the steel gear you can't take off her, means that she is at "full capacity"?

Yeah, I got no response from Lydia when I used the Amulet. Aela however, was right in about as soon as I put it on.

Nah, even with full Daedric and her own, she should still be able to carry a fair bit. Sorted it out with the console, she had 19 Hunting Bows on her, which are added every time you dismiss/hire her (see Bug Report a couple of posts back). You have to take all your stuff from her (trade), then use the console (if on PC of course) to target her and "removeallitems", then give her back what you want. That also allows her to use the bow/arrows you want her to. Noticed that difference straight away, her arrows were pretty ineffectual before, now she's one-shotting forsworns all over the place.

An unfortunate side-effect of marrying Aela seems to be that I can't get the 3rd "totem of hircine" mission from her, just the endless animal exterminations.

Has anyone else run into a bug with the reanimate corpse spell?

It was previously working fine but now whenever I use it the target corpse crumbles to dust as soon as it stands up.

What is this? Bethesda support forum?  :D

Heh, not me, not used magic much (yet), there'll be stuff on the wiki linked above no doubt. It's a great thing, though I've seen it criticised, being a bit of a guide and all, but it's all about self restraint, great for bugged quest info with all the console stuff for the PC folks.

So I was wondering, who played Oblivion on the PC/XBox? How buggy was it compared to this? Cos the PS3 one was certainly less buggy than Skyrim, but then it wasn't out until 2 years later or something, so would have had a more stable build by then. Had more bother with the GOTY edition, which crashed fairly often in the Shivering Isles.

Which gives me pause to wonder what treats we have in store expansion-wise. Unless they're gonna be evil and have lots of "DLC" as they say these days, then there's some scope for some pretty epic stuff. Was checking out the 2 gate things to the far south east (towards Morrowind) and to the south west (towards kind of Cyrodil but maybe the west, into Thalmor (logical story direction, cos most of us have pissed them off I'm sure  :D ) territory, or whatever's there). Both are obvious roads and are blocked by the (very obvious) good old wall of wotsit so would be natural expansion routes. Also, apparently the landmass of Cyrodil and Morrowind are actually there, in a basic form, found by someone doing mad console things (noclip) and wandering about. All sounds a bit mad to me, but would they? Do 2 HUGE expansions? Nah, it'll never happen  :-\

I think that's the site I got a t-shirt from at Xmas, was a "Tuskens" shirt in the style of an L.A. Raiders shirt. Splendid thing  :D

The creation kit and a high resolution texture pack are available to download for free on the Steam store  :D.

Nice one Bethesda!
