Quote
For a tenuous AD&D/2000ad link, I went to school with the guy who cheated Tharg out of £3 by copying the picture of the Beholder from the Monster Manual and passing it off as his own - another Earthlet grassed him up a couple of weeks later!

Hmmm from your scrappy data the Beast has answered :

A JANES   PRESTON PROG 286 OBRIUN CARNIVORE ENGLAND 1982

Is this the miscreant you seek?

That's the fella! He failed his art O level I seem to recall - he only had one nice painting he'd been working on all year and nothhing else, so he faked up all these 'preliminary studies' of it to fill up his board. Didn't work.

EDIT - is something up with the quote function? can't seem to type outside the quote.

Chalk another up to the Beast - anyone got a scan of said pic? The Beast was overlooked for lottery funded upgrades - again!

Bit nostalgic, this thread. But yeah, real life kind of gets in the way these days. A LOT.

If you like vicarious thrills and podcasts however, I can recommend www.rpgmp3.com for free (yes, free!) recordings of actual play.

Here's the start of a Penny Arcade sequence about D&D:
