Cheap Thrills - the only January sale you'll want in 2012

Progs for a quid, Megs for a couple of bin lids, graphic novels for more than half price? All true:

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Thanks Emperor. A couple of GNs bought:

Nicholai Dante: The Great Game
Apart from the first GN and one of the Tsar Wars volumes, there's lots of the old Dante stuff I haven't read.

Caballistics Inc: Going Underground.
I actually have the second. I don't ususally buy out of order but I picked it up cheap on Mongoose a while back.

I was tempted to get the Slaine action figure too... but thought that might be a bit much...

Excellent! Cabbies: Going Underground... which I thought was very rare, to be honest- and SiniDex: Eurocrash, for me. Looking forward to these arriving now!

And  feel free to post tips for newer readers who might be a bit taken aback by all that is on offer.

I'd suggest:

EE #8 - Firekind, out-Avatars Avatar and predates it by a decade and a half:

Some other good ones:

Thrill Power Overload - a cracking guide to the history of 2000AD with peaks behind Tharg's mighty curtain:

Kingdom:

Nemesis, Volumes 1 and 2 - some of the best thrills ever:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/the_complete_nemesis_the_warlock
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/the_complete_nemesis_the_warlock_vol_2

Shakara, Volume 1:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/shakara

Devlin Waugh: Swimming in Blood - you could pick up the second book too:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/devlin_waugh_swimming_in_blood
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/devlin_waugh_red_tide

Necronauts - if you have the Frazer Irving Collection then you might have ummed and ahhed about the Tharg's Terror Tales Presents collection because you've already got A Love Like Blood, well this is just Necronauts and it is a lovely book (those big glossy pages were born to have Frazer Irving's art all over them) that I thought was sold out long ago - you'll want this:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/necronauts

Durham Red: The Scarlet Cantos - the first volume of the reboot:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/durham_red_the_scarlet_cantos

The Complete Ro-Busters - you'd be mad not to:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/the_complete_robusters

Mega-City Undecover - Lenny Zero and Low Life, if you loved dirty Frank then catch his first appearance:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/megacity_undercover

Caballistics Inc - this is where Absalom came from and, if you liked that, you'll want both of these, you won't be sorry:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/caballistics_inc_going_underground
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/caballistics_inc_creepshow

Simping Detective - one of the best things Si Spurrier has done and with Frazer Irving on art duties it is bound to be a bit special:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/the_simping_detective
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/caballistics_inc_creepshow

Halo Jones - one of Alan Moore's masterpieces, an unfinished one but stunning all the same:
http://shop.2000adonline.com/products/ballad_of_halo_jones

Now if you could just wait while I fill my shopping trolley and check out before you all rush in, that'd be super ;)

Argggggggg. This is my chance to fill in my two year gap*! Oh my god. Oh my god.  But it still gonna run me nearly a 100 US dollars for a single year's worth of Progs!

*well, technically three years. But I have all of 2008 digitally. But I just can't justify replacing an entire year of progs I've already read. Yet.

Still, I could not pass it up. So I've decided to fill in all of 2009. Even with shipping over 30 or 40 US dollars, it still comes out $160 cheaper had I bought all those comics at retail. Which is an insane steal. So... yeah. There's 100 bucks I probably shouldn't have spent exchanged for Progs.

If this sale runs to the end of January. I might make an attempt to fill in 2010 if I have any spare money at the end of the month. Does not seem very likely though.

I just hope all those comics make it through customs okay. Anyone ordered mass numbers of Progs via the 2000 AD store in the US? They turn up okay?

Hmm, some good bargains there on first glance, but after postage is added on it's not much of a saving vs Amazon Marketplace for the book I wanted.

Only worth it if you're making a large order.

I got a Slaine figure. My little boy has a T-Rex that's about the right size, so we will play Slaine Versus The Time Monster.

26 Megs. Finally going to get up to date with the damn thing.

The postage is steep though so it's worth ordering a fat wodge of thrillpower.

I've ordered ACE Trucking Vol 2, Complete Ro-Busters and Dante: Hell and High Water, a bargain, I thought, at £18.

Then I got to the postage and 'handling'; EIGHT QUID!? Is it being sent by frigging courier? I only live in Yorkshire. Christ... that's another argument with the wife...
