Prog 1766: Back in Business

It's all good, from Cliff Robinson's moody Alpha on the cover to the sale ad on the inside back.

Everything is just, well, fab! Highlight is the end of Dante. That "takes" some balls

The postie delivers at 7.30am sharp on a Saturday, and only on a Saturday. It's like he knows I'm up with the kids and have a prog-thread to blag.

Can't beat Dr X but had a timely knock on the door this morning at 9am & postie there with Prog in hand.

All good for me this week - Special mention to the way the thrills have been set up. Last page of Dante and his balls and the very next page Absalom (which is exceedingly good) and the excellent line - "Nothing like a surprise bit of head to start the day off with a bang"

Thoroughly enjoyable read on this cold January morn.

Just got back from my son's swimming lesson and there were 2 progs on my doormat !

My replacement for prog 1765 ( thankyou Denise at the nerve centre - she is a star !) and this weeks prog 1766.

Fantastic cover by Cliff Robinson of Johnny Alpha.

The only story I really wanted to catch up with is of course Dredd: Day Of Chaos....oh  reading 2 episodes in one go was too much. This storyline has been building up for months now and I am eager to see what happens in it this year.

I dont care much for Dante and Grey Area though.

Absalom is good, and great to see the old Johnny and McNulty back in action.

Things are starting to gain a bit of momentum. Dredd continues and I'm beginning to look forward to giving this a re-read. Might sharpen things up a bit. Grey Area still meanders a little though absolutely loved the response to the line

"I am no longer sure who the monsters are."

Absalom builds some nice pace and I'm lovin' Trevallion's art more and more. Its become a cliche now to proclaim that that second best thrill in the Prog would be the best in any real world, but Dante is so good again that even Strontium Dog firing on all cylinders and building some intriguing suspense concerning exactly what is happening to Johnny is pushed with breezey easy into second pace. Damn I'm lovin' Dante, though who he'll be lovin' in the future... well next week might tell...

Now that's a cover.

Love all the strips at the moment, no gripes whatsoever. Tharg, you're too good to us.

Yeah glad to put the embarrassment of last weeks cover out of memory with this weeks excellent one.

Loved absalom mostest, but it's all good. I need to catch up on Dante and SD by reading a few of the TPBs though I think

Hmmm... Dante speculation: He healed fast. I think we're in for the dramatic return of his weapons crest.

Everybody else guessed that too, didn't you?

Yeah and that last panel does make you wonder to what extreme they'll go to to show you how much better his healing is!

his face hasn't healed though. I assumed she had done the old 'set the beasties onto his bindings' weakening them.

I meant to add: I'm loving every page of the prog right now. That Stront story is tremendous.

Every story a gem, Dredd very wordy but worth it, nice to see the Blair driod back too, but I'm unsure of the need for laywers and the softly softly approach with this perp,  given what's at risk. But its the Wagdriod so all's good.

Only gripe, that cover its so static, shirley we could have had a bit more movement/action? ditto the back, both are simply armed men standing stock still.
I will name him Tharg, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him.
