I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but when Nikolai Dante is fighting in the museum in Sword of the Tsar there's a live stookie in a jar behind him. Which I suppose means that New Moscow was built on the site of East Meg 1 and Jena's great great great great great great great great great grandfather is Red Razors.
Scan and paste please.

I think when it comes to Dredd/Stront I have to believe that Dredds past is Alphas, otherwise we ignore a perfectly excellent story in Top Dog.  I dont see any contradiction as such in the Brit cit of Dredds time and Alphas post Great War Britain.  As others have said, its a new start after that war, with very little left behind to build on.  That, plus I dont give a fig about non-Wagner Dreddverse stuff, as all I know about Brit Cit is that they have/had a King Iggy and theres a tunnel to it under the Atlantic (possibly some more if I could read Brit Cit Babes without gouging out my eyes).  Oh, and some scottish wastelands that fit in fine with the Strontiverse.

Against that we have the fact that Wagner really dislikes the crossover concept in principal (from various interviews he given) and certainly doesnt feel bound to tie these things together for anyone and if hes still writing Dredd in 16 years(!) we'll no doubt have no Great War... but then Dredd had Sabbat come back and mess up the timeline sufficently to create a separate continuity for him from that point on! :)

So does the Smiling Chukwalla in Blackhawk mean it's set in the same universe as Stronty Dog - and so, by extension, Dredd as well?

Nah! It's just throwaway stuff. Fun but not seriously part of the story. For example there are Kleggs in Ace Trucking. One of my favourite episodes by the way. So funny.

Convergent evolution and convergent timelines explains all unwanted crossovers.

And though I don't have them to hand to read I'm sure that D-jump of some sort caused at least one Stront/Dredd meet-up.  Though it is possible I read that between the lines due to the continuity jarring.

Time and dimensional jumping tech appear to be closely interlinked in Dredd tales - see the Staples Death story where Death ends up back at the time of the purges when trying to return to his own dimension.  We can assume that City of the DAmned is also a diverged dimension created by time travel, and an event like Judgement Day would be enough to derail Dredds world from becoming Stronts

I hear that in one or two panel of Nikolai Dante: The Great Game, Slain, Ray and Finny can be seen.
Can't confirm this as I don't own the trade. Must get that from Forbidan Planet next time I visit.
If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

Not exactly. In the story The Hunting Party a group of assassins are sent to kill Jocasta. The trio are parodic takes on Slaine, Sinister and Dexter.

This is what's known as a joke.

I think I've mentioned this in another thread before but I really wish Johnny Alpha was in the same universe/timeline as Dredd..it would have been so easy from the start without time jumping sh*te

Johnny in Brit-Cit..just like Sam Slade..the whole thing would have been perfect

Ok so there was Warlord to think about

But if 2000ad would have jumped feet first from the off it would have been perfect

Well I know what I'm on about..

Apart from the fact that they started in different comics.

I'm happier with them being separate. Twice as many possibilities.

I see. Well as I said, I had never read the actual strip and was just going off what I had previously heard.
Alos, in what panel of Walter the Wobot did Mek-Quake appear? Scan's people!

My own theory regarding Dredd and SD is that the war that created Johnny, and which is concealed in the Alpha Files, was between Brit-Cit and Sino City One.  But since, Sino City One is supposed to have been destroyed in Judgement Day after being overrun by Sabbat's* zombies, this cannot obviously happen anymore so the timelines have diverged**.

*so basically my entire theory boils down to "A Wizard Done It"

** Unless the destruction of Sino City One has been retconned/ignored/forgotten (delete as applicable), in which case - Sod it your guess is as good as mine.

Pretty sure that Sino Cit wasn't one of the cities destroyed in Judgement Day.
