Hi All,
I've been wanting to read the whole thing for many years. I never got to follow all of it issue by issue way back then...

So, The Cursed Earth Dredd Epic: What's the 'best' omnibus edition for me to get?

Thanks!
John

There's either the Dredd case files , the original 2 Titan books or for me , the best one is the Collected Cursed Earth - again by Titan but all in one volume. None of them will have the 'banned' episodes in though.
Or coming very soon - a little mini version of the Cursed Earth.

Judge Dredd Case Files 02. Is the most comprehensive. Particular because it also contains The Cursed Earth's direct follow-up The Day the Law Died. Also all the stories around those two epics to help contextualize the whole thing. Its a slick package.

I would say the Titan editions because the print quality is gorgeous (better than the Case Files) and they have a few bonus Bolland pages drawn specially for 'em. Dunno if those're in the collection strontium71 mentions, but if it's Titan, I'd assume so.

That`s a question!  Has the Jolly Green Giant/Burger Wars stuff
ever seen a reprint?  I still got the original Progs in the dusty attic of dome.

No, and I doubt they will. A few pages have popped up online - but not the complete ones (although probably if you looked hard enough someone might have scanned the whole lot in)

But no official reprint.

The best collection is the Titan Hardback ISBN 1-84023-459-8, but it's out of print. As has been said, there are some nice extra bits of Bolland artwork, but it's a shame it doesn't have the Eagle reprint covers by him, or the McMahon cover for the Titan softback Part 2.

Apparently not. So it's two episodes missing.

The Dredd Case Files Vol .2 are excellent; and has already been mentioned, there is a good continuity into the next Dredd saga after The Cursed Earth.

The two Titan editions would be better quality if they are in mint condition. Be very wary of buying quite old  2000 ad editions off Amazon/ebay that are classified as "mint". Ive seen stuff on there listed as mint going for a tenner and thought "bargain", only to be disappointed, and reordering the same item but at a more expensive price to get the quality I wanted.

Don't know what the new mini edition will be like?

DON@T buy the old Titan prints, as the pages will fall out.

Yeah I'd say the old Titan editions as well. Only just sold mine and they'd lasted many readings. Absolutely wonderful reproduction and those lovely covers.

Hi folks, thanks for all this.
Yes, I gathered that those episodes wouldn't be available. They're in the original comics though I presume. So I gather that:

The Dredd Case Files 2 are 'comprehensive' with additional stories for added context.

The original 'Titan' version that's been mentioned - that's in 2 volumes? One in hard back - one in soft back? But out of print. Better quality printing but the pages fall out

Member Strontium 71 suggests that the best is the single volume Collected Cursed Earth.

Do any of these include the full colour artwork and covers?

Thanks,
John

Case Files does NOT include color spreads or covers. Black and white only.
