I like the icons, but would it be possible to have them *without* a border?
Is it out of the question to suggest that the site feature have user specific tweaking, for example I might like to see all the threads in a post in one go. I would like to see larger icons. I might like the default background colour to be off-blue, etc.
Any other ideas for user specific features?
And another thing -- (which I'll add here)
When you click post message, is there any chance that *instead* of the pop up window appearing and the original window *not* changing content, the original window could just update to reflect the changes? (or at the very least have the pop-up window tell you exactly what you've done "well done, you've posted a message" or "well done, you've accidently bookmarked a message thread, even though you didn't mean to".
