Do you like "Under the bridge" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers?

I always thought they were o.k.. There has recently been a line up change wiht John Frusciante leaving the band so don't know how different they sound. I always thought that Faith No More were a bit better, but that's only my personal taste. As for Lemmy, 'course I'm a fan, 'ave been for years.

That first DROKK track is pure Carpenter pastiche but the second is a bit more interesting and atmospheric. I also liked the Katalyst and Thought Forms tracks.

Metal soundtrack on a film is an instant signifier that the production is being done on the cheap and is overly concerned with appealing to the 15-21 year old spotty herbert demographic. Apologies to non-spotty-herbert metal fans: there's very little metal that I like as I find the rigid adherence to formulaic structures and celebration of pointless virtuosity very dull. On the other hand, I like a lot of techno so feel free to make your own retort about tedious repetition or something.

Third is a good album, even though I only really like three or four tracks off it. The Rip is one of them. Machine Gun is another: I can't get enough of that drum sound.

Mad innit. Love the 'Fog horn' @ the end of  'Threads'! Like a call to arms. Or War of the worlds?

Just listened to the DROKK stuff there - not bad.
Anyone listened to the Chemical Brothers soundtrack to Hanna? That would fit pretty well into the world of Dredd

I haven't mate. I liked their 'Dig your own hole' album. I guess if it's the sound track to one film already it won't be for another. But yeah. Something along the lines of the Chemical Brothers for a sound track.

never been a fan of Metal/Rock myself, but always thought Queen's soundtrack fitted the film perfectly.

Lost Boys is another film that works well because of a rock soundtrack - the movie simply revels in its "80's-ness". I also love the fact that although the film also has a proper score...it's synth.

It camp
Like Queen doing the soundtrack to Flash Gordon, camp rubbish.

Cos like, the Flash Gordon film wasn't camp.

Well it has one of the best lines ever which I shall probably misquote now......

" Flash I love you but we only have 12 hours to save the world "

Apart from that it was a bit rubbish.

Apart from that it was a bit rubbish.

A 'bit of rubbish'?  It's total rubbish, glorious rubbish, willfully marvelous beautiful rubbish.  In short, it's great, and I don't mean that in any hip ironic way.

(14 hours, BTW - 12 hours would be ridiculous: he's just a man, y'know).

EDIT:

Also, I seriously considered suggesting these as wedding vows:

Priest: Do you, Ming the Merciless, Ruler of the Universe, take this Earthling Dale Arden, to be your Empress of the Hour?
Ming: Of the hour, yes.
P: Do you promise to use her as you will?
M: Certainly!
P: Not to blast her into space?
[Ming glares at Priest]
P:Uhh, until such time as you grow weary of her.
M: I do.

DTT have more information, including:

Quote
We're told Tharg is delighted by the new album.

"2000AD is delighted that Judge Dredd continues to inspire artists in the year of the character’s 35th anniversary, especially such high profile talents as Geoff and Ben," said one of his droids. " You can tell, from their vision of the Big Meg, that they’re massive fans of the strip."

No mention in the article of when it will come out, or where to get it. That's annoying.
