We just lost one of the good guys. One of us. The first 2000AD superfan.

I had many a laugh with Stewart at comics events, swapping smokes and beering like professionals. He had that amazing grin. He brought his granny to Moniaive, and she was puzzled by being called Granny Logan all weekend. He loved the weirdness and fun in everything.

Just last week he was wishing me a happy birthday, still posting "my liege" or whatever silliness on Facebook. I'm having some difficulty with this. It seems unreal.

Really sad news, I'm a bit stunned by it. Haven't run into him for ages but I always assumed whenever I was back in the UK and there was some kind of 2000ad get together I would. He will be very much missed.

I didn't know Stewart at all, yet I owe him a great debt of gratitude:

Cracking interview - more here that Wagner's next half dozen.

Can't process this news, have known Logan since my earliest days in 2000 AD fandom and the idea of that fandom without him is unthinkable. All my sympathy to his family.

I, Cosh

I never met him but his presence and influence in this community are undeniable.

Please pass on my condolences.
We never really die.

R.I.P Judge Logan.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Awful news. One of the first things I did when I got on the Internet all them years ago was sign up to the Class of '79 news group and he was a mainstay during my early years on this forum. Never met the man, but he was as true a fan as you could want and a pleasantly Grumpy Fucker- RIP Logan and condolences to his family and friends.
To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

Something Fishy

That is very sad news indeed.  RIP Stuart.

There's a terrible, sad truth behind this. And it's something behind the veil on anonymity we often fail to acnowledge, and it's that we are all real people with real and fullfiling lives to go with us. And this, oh man, absolutely devastating and quite, quite sobering. Logan was one of the longest standing members of the 2000AD fandom, and one of the earliest folk to welcome me to the forum and community. Tragic, deeply upsetting. My thoughts go out to his family. Thank you for telling us this, Commando Forces.  :'(

RIP Logan

Bit stunned. Knew Stewart for 20years, was there when he first suggested, 'shall we do a fanzine'? And saw the birth of W.R. Logan. Been drunk too many times to count and once slept in the back of an estate car with the man so we could meet John Wagner the next day. He said I snored, I still don't believe him.

Stewart was a great storyteller and he could spin a life-yarn that would have you in stitches. He did a hell of a lot in his time from hard circumstances and I have nothing but respect for th guy. Really can't believe this has happened...

All the best, mate, you will be missed.

Terrible news- absolutely stunned.

I just don't know what else to say.

So sorry to hear this.

Ah shit, that's just wrong. RIP.
An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

Very sad and shocked to hear this news.
We only met once in person, but remained FB friends.
Thoughts to his family.
Cheers

His impact and importance to 2000ad fandom is there for all to see.
