I have been reading 2000AD since prog 1, and if there is one message I could send to myself as a child, it would be to preserve all my progs forever in polybags. But I didn't do that, and I suppose my mother just threw them out when I left them on the living room floor. So I have been painstakingly rebuilding my collection for the last couple of years.

I live in France but will be back in the UK for the 40th Anniversary. Yay!

Welcome aboard and hope you are enjoying getting those good ol' progs back. Hope its not too tricky from France?

Welcome Slithy.

A familiar tale of childhood woe for many of us I'm sure!

A fine display of progs covering the floor is one I remember well. Enjoy the 40th! Say hello! I will be the one not wearing a judges outfit  :o

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

In fact I was very successful in rebuilding my collection thanks to the generosity of madprofessor40 on these boards. I was back in the UK for Christmas so I was able to pick up the progs and ship them to France. I now have all progs from 1-1500 (plus all from 2000 onwards as I have started subscribing again). Wow!

In celebration of this, and anticipating the 40th anniversary, I have started a blog about 2000AD from prog 1 onwards. First installment is here:

I will put all future posts on Diaspora* with the #2000ad tag, so if you like the post above, you can follow all future posts here:

As an aside, I now have several hundred duplicate progs which I will list for sale in the Classifieds forum.
