I am working my way through dredd up to necropolis by reading:

1- dredd case files 1-15
2- anderson psi files 1-2
3- restricted files 1-3
4- chopper
5- the deadman
6- daily dredd

I really want to cover all related series before moving beyond necropolis

am i missing anything?

Thanks

ps: i feel bad for not having dredd when grew up :(

Steve good list off the top of your head, but you have made one major omission, possibly the greatest Dredd world story of them all (IMHO): The Simping Detective.

I think that's it - the megazine appeared just after Necropolis, or around the same time I think, so there won't be anything in that leading up to it.

They did a 'tales of necropolis' flashbacks later.

The only thing you're missing is the Cursed Earth episodes which haven't been reprinted in the case files, but are in the Cursed Earth uncensored hardback - although I think that may be hard to get hold of.

Not sure what the status of a softback edition of that is.

Most Dreddworld strips originated in the Megazine, which launched the same week as the final episode of Necropolis. That means the first post-Necropolis Dreddworld story you need to read is America - the best Dreddworld story ever.

Prior to that, the only Dreddworld strips I can think of are Helltrekkers, Tales Of Mega-City One, the two Chopper solo stories, and the Anderson strips collected in the Psi Files books. If you're a total completist, Kev O'Neill drew a short story called Shok, which was set in the Cursed Earth and featured a Shok-trooper from the Atom Wars*.

Board colossus Dark Jimbo created this excellent visual guide to when you should read each book:

* The strip formed the basis for the low budget UK sci-fi film, Hardware

Colin YNWA

Don't think its been mentioned but Tiger Sun, Dragon Moon had a very tenuous Dredd world connect, but you know Steve Parkhouse so well worth it anyway.

Barney tells me reprinted in Meg 324.

The Blockers!* (Judge Dredd Mega-Special 1988). Jose Casanovas drew a ton of Max Normal solo strips too, making a mockery of my claim Dreddworld began with the Megazine.

You can bung in the Walter strips as well.
