2000ad Annual 1978

Coincidence - I just got my copy of the annual out as I'm coming up to that stage in my prog slog.  For the record, mine has 1978 on the cover and the spine.

Hartlepool is a foreign country, they do things* differently there.

Very nice - not just the Hartley quote, but using it in the context of Hartlepool as well!

Oz collector here.  My copy of the '78 annual has '1978' on both the cover and spine (black print).  Inside front cover has the white triangle with '£1.00' printed inside it.

The publishing blurb states...yada, yada..."Sole agents for Australia and New Zealand: Gordon & Gotch Ltd."

However - I  think I acquired this copy from the UK via eBay - so it may not represent what was available in Oz back in the day.

I've got '1978' on both my copies, one of which I was given for Christmas in 1977.

I'm sure I have an Action annual somewhere from the same year(ish) also without the date on it.

As stated earlier, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere years ago that this was indeed because they were produced for overseas markets.
