Had assumed there was another issue so Hookjaw #5 ending took me a bit by surprise. This series has been a bit of a moist octopus for me. Far from Spurrier's best.

Inversely I've loved it. It's been years since I've followed a floppy so I've really enjoyed seeing the tale unfold. I think Spurrier and Boyle have done a bang-up job and I'd be happy to see them tell another tale.

I really liked the look of this and intend to pick up the collected edition.

Maybe a stupid question- but is artist Conor Boyle a member of this forum?

2017 is turning out to be a funny year for me. I'm reading far, far less than before, but enjoying pretty much everything that I do read.
Being Marvel free for the past 18 months has obviously helped.
After a few years trial & error, the old pull list has been pared back to the core essentials, with 10% wiggle room for impulse purchases / recommendations.

Only two forthcoming series I can think of that I'm eager to pick up- Volume 2 of Wytches by Snyder & Jock, and Bane: Conquest by the original creative team of Dixon & Nolan.
(Which is due to hit next week actually; http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2017/02/15/announcing-bane-conquest-by-dixon-and-nolan).

A minor Sudafed overdose can lead to hallucinations and extreme deja vu.
So there.

AND just messaged Walt Simonson and I'm now all star struck as he responded pretty much straight away - alas the news was not good. It could be a year between this issue and next BUT The MIGHTY SIMONSON is doing this so the next arc can come out monthly.

For Walt I wait!

This series has always been worth the Walt.

Quite a satisfying conclusion to the 2nd arc, artwork has been sublime throughout.
I know that Simonson has an issue of Kamandi Challange coming up, it'll have to tide us over til 2018.

I thought he had reincarnated as one of the new guys on the board

Frank may have changed his handle a couple times over the years, but that wouldn't be his style.
Likely just having a break, as we all do (or should do) from time to time.

Strong cover this week, very reminiscent of Carl Critchlow's current style, particularly in monochrome inks.

Is it an obvious homage to another image, or do I just own too many Sons of Anarchy DVDs?

Games / Re: Nintendo Switch

I would not be surprised if Nintendo goes the way of Sega after this (with the exception of handhelds, although I'd imagine that market is dropping thanks to ipads and the likes) since they have decent I.P and good range of classic titles. Time will tell.

Switch sales are extremely healthy by all accounts, perhaps the only issue they currently have is supplying the demand.
As James mentioned the games will ultimately be a key factor to its ongoing success, but it's been a positive launch.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

"Crisis on Infinite Art Comps"

Which must include an entry portraying a crying CFM holding his own dead body.

I was always going to pick it up at some stage, but there's a lorra love on here for Horizon Zero Dawn- it'll be sooner than later.
Just a bit of mopping up on Breath of the Wild, then completion of The Witcher III (Blood & Wine) to take care of first.

Time is the only true enemy.

Does anyone see a way where Harvey can stay with the strip as a recurring character? I think that might where Wagner is going with this.

We'd all love this to happen.  So naturally Wagner will kill him in an off-hand manner, because we can't have nice things.  I'd say the very best we can hope for is back into storage.

I'm still not over the fact Boots never returned.

I get the description that his art is friendly and suspect that's part the reason he feel out of favour.

From the horses mouth a few weeks ago; "My Durham Red wasn't sexy enough".

Always loved his stuff, and it would be insane not to utilise his talent again in 2000AD or the Meg.
