Howdy Peeps

I remember an age ago taking part in a discussion here as to whether the Bond franchise was about to disappear without trace after Brosnan left/got the shove.

Just seen the full trailer for Casino Royale, and have to say I'm putting my misgivings about Daniel Craig to the side for the time being. I reckon this looks bloody ace!

What's everyone else think?

It's a wee bit bloody awesome looking, ain't it?

I've never really been a bond fan, but that trailer does look bloody good!

I haven't really enjoyed a bond movie since I was a kid, but it could be okay.  Always thought David Craig was pretty good anyway.  Probably a DVD viewig for me unless someone drags me to see it.

The Amstor Computer

Hm. It looks like a real high-budget action flick, and Craig appears - from that brief showing - to bring a refreshing cold, serious edge to Bond, but I'm not really sure about it yet. I had hoped for something more low-key & in keeping with the early Bonds and with Fleming's own novel, but this just seems to be a balls-out action piece.

Dunno - perhaps I've just been watching too much Bourne Identity & Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy...

Floyd-the-k

It looks good to me. I think they put most of the balls-out action stuff in the trailer, the film may have more to it.
I snickered at the woman saying 'if you fail, it'll mean the government is funding terrorism'. It's a break from 'if you fail the world will end' but it makes her sound a bit naive.

yours dum diddle um dumm ishly

LARF

F**k me!

Now THAT is Bond!

Not some jumped up corseted 50 something.

If it's anything like the trailer then I'm in!

Although I'd quite like to see this trailer, before I waste God-only-knows how long clicking on that link with a dial-up connection, can anyone tell me what format the trailer is in?

Basically, if it's a WMV, AVI or needs higher than Quicktime 6.x, I won't be able to view it ...

Cheers!

Gawd bless yer, squire!

I'll start it loading up now and potter off to do the washing up ...

Um. That took me to the confession of a guy who bought Gary Coleman's shoes.

Turned it off after he mentioned the auction "Save Gary's Ass".
Lock up your spoons!

Oh. Sorry. Must have got the link wrong somehow. I'll look into it.

That looks absolutely fantastic!

I particularly liked the choral arrangement of the Bond theme.

Glas to see a complete abscence of ropey CGI, over the top gadgetry and cringe inducing wise cracks.

That "Yes, Considerably" is actually funny unlike any joke/witty dialogue cracked in the last three Bond films.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

In this post-Phantom Menace world, all one can say in response to this is: "Damn good trailer!".  Drawing conclusions about the film is another matter, but it's a very fine example of the trailer-maker's art.  (loved the collapsing Venetian building)
