I'm currently listening Woods of Ypres an awesome doom band sadly the lead singer died just before christmas
loveforstitch - Does he fall in love? I like a little romance in all my movies.

Rekaert - Yes, he demonstrates it with bullets, punches and sentencing.

He's Mega City 1's own Don Juan.

Good ol' Justin Broadrick, instantly recognisable sound. Haven't listened to much Jesu, but it's clearly not a million miles away from Godflesh.

I've followed quite a bit of Justin's work in Godflesh and Jesu he also did an album with Jarboe aswell being a fan of The Swans and i can recommend that aswell as his work in Greymachine

Passion : Music For The Last Temptation Of Christ

a bit more than a film soundtrack album from Peter Gabriel; a full ambient type album with musicians form Middle East, Africa and Asia. This will get your feet tapping.

@klute - Got Greymachine's Disconnected recently, due to Broadrick for sure but more because of Aaron Turner's involvement (from Isis, another stunning live band, luckily caught them on the last (final) tour).

@Joe - Not heard Swans much before (think I did years ago as I recognised the one you posted) but will be now for sure thanks to this thread. Only just checked out Jarboe's stuff with Neurosis, who I've been into a lot recently...

Hoping to catch them sometime on the next tour, missed them in Hackney last summer cos of a mate's wedding, which I wouldn't have missed for the world but damn!

I, Cosh

Saw Swans last year. Good cross-section of their stuff from the early grind through the acoustic years to the stuff they're doing now. Highlight was the intro: fifteen minutes of a guy hitting a bit of metal while a single line of feedback/distortion gradually builds and builds. Magic.
We never really die.

I, Cosh

While I'm here, I've been listening to a fair bit of Carl Craig the last couple of nights. Here's a brilliant record for you: Twilight.
We never really die.

O Lucky Stevie!

a taster of Clark's forthcoming new album of the same name due out in April on Warp.

Clark is Stevie fave artist producing electronica at the moment. It looks like he's ditched the Tensor stylings of the last two albums for something a bit more prog if this cut is anything to go by.

This is just to remind people what a record player looks like, in case you've forgotten.
Steve Jobs, who bought us iPods to listen to, always listened to his music on vinyl.

Odd thing this. Whenever Stevie interviewed vinyl purists for Auxtralian radio he'd always ask, "So when recording your own music do you do you utilise analogue techniques --splicing up tape loops & the like-- or do you do it all digitally?"

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the unaminous reply was?
"We'll send all these nasty words to Aunt Jane. Don't you think that would be fun?"

..which unaminously proves that if you own a record player and a vinyl collection you're some kind of idiot?

Yeah i love Isis but unfortunatly as seem's to be the case with most bands i've discovered of late IE Woods of Ypres  they have either split of died :( Jarboe with Neurosis is awesome :)

If your a fan of Greymachine/Jesu/Isis and Godflesh i suspect you may like Secret House by Jodis which has Aaron Turner as part of the "Super Group"

Wonky are you using this thread to show off your impressive vinyl collection? Lol.

Not got any Dead kennedys. Will have to rectify.
