Printer plotter compatibility query

I'm thinking of buying an HP Designjet 130nr Large Format Inkjet Printer A1 24" Colour CAD Desktop Plotter, if you'll excuse my copying and pasting.

Two things I'm wondering, though: firstly, would it print any PDF file, rather than just CAD files?

Secondly, would it be compatible with my Acer laptop? (The last plotter I bought was only compatible with the olds school 'tower' hard drives.)
