I think out of all the sequels/prequels he had input only on Alien3, and Prometheus.

His time on Alien3 was relatively short - weeks? A month?, and he only got that on the insistence of director David Fincher. Prometheus was much less than that. In real terms; 'Hey, Giger pop down to the studio and see what we are doing, and can you design us a mural whilst you are at it..?'

Movie studios are bonkers!

The goings on surrounding Alien 3 alone would put most people off ever working on a movie.

Very good news.

I remember he was also heavily linked with the new Predator movie.

Bad promotion. Everyone will be too drunk/fat/stoned to watch it.

Watched that this morning and I have to say that it filled me with dread - not from fear of it being bad, but bloody hell the facehugger jumping out? The trailer had a bit of a mix of Alien and Aliens in what was going on, and the only bit that I cringed at was the "oooohhh they're getting naughty, what's that Alien tail up to?" but then the Alien appeared.

That bloody facehugger!!!
Peas sell. But who's Brian?

I personally think there's lots of incredibly positive stuff in this trailer. It does look properly scary, which is something Prometheus couldn't claim.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say it runs as a blow by blow of everything  I ideally want from a good Alien movie. Something we haven't seen before: check. Characters tested beyond their limits: check. Facehuggers being scary and disgusting: Check. Oh my f***in' stars and garters, check! Checkity-check-check-checkeroo with a side helping of
'Oh my, it appears Billy Crudup won't last long in this one'
As for the final shot with the grisly shower scene... I think that's bloody masterful. Anyone else notice that the Alien appears to have a HUGE handspan in that scene?

Of course, we won't know a damned thing about the movie's quality until it arrives in cinemas. But I'm looking forward to it.

Love the trailer. My only worry would be that I absolutely adored the Prometheus trailers, and it didn't quite live up to the excitement the trailer built.

Whatever can be said, we can surely all agree that it looks bloody amazing.

Having read a few set reports I'm led to believe that the Alien is a more familiar creature with a few additions that chalk up the fear factor!
