Hello people!

I am a fan and collector of 2000ADs, Megazines and Crisis issues. As of today, I own 1100 2000ADs and I decided to bind them in large hardback volumes so I can properly store and display on my bookcases. I am in the process of arranging and scheduling my book-binding work at hand and I came up with a question :

I know that 2000AD has changed various sizes during the years of its publication. Can you please give me a list containing issue numbers of when all of those changes occured?

Please, help a fellow Greek Earthlet organise his collection!

P.S. If anyone knows where I can find a Nikolai Dante - Tsar Wars vol.2 trade paperback, please share the info! It's the only one missing from my entire Nikolai Dante collection (11 trades). Thanks!!

Hi jpentz, welcome to the board! Sounds like a great collection and binding will be a great way to collect and read all that thrill power.

This thread has some binding examples and may have some of the info you are looking for:

Forgot to mention the 110-127 change in size, right?

At least those are reasonable runs. I seem to remember Battle changed size in the 70's or 80's for only about 3 issues (roughly the prog 110-127 size). Must make binding them a bit of a tricky one.

I kept info on the various formats when I was figuring out storage options a while back:

1 to 109240 x 280mm / 9.5 x 11in
110 to 127215 x 280mm / 8.5 x 11in
128 to 519240 x 280mm / 9.5 x 11in
520 to 1032230 x 300mm / 9 x 11.75in
1033 to 1199210 x 300mm / 8.25 x 11.75in
1200 to 1370195 x 300mm / 7.75 x 11.75in
1371 to present210 x 280mm / 8.25 x 11in

The sizes of the newsprint progs (pre 520) probably vary a little bit, as the folding and cutting of each prog was sometimes a bit erratic...

Huh. I never realized Narrow era started Narrow, then got EVEN NARROWER before Rebellion decided 'US Comics shape SUCKS'

Also, strickly speaking 8.25 x 11in Started with Prog 2004.

THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Many many thanks my friend!!!

P.S. Was surprised to ask the same question on the official twitter account and get the response that they didn't know and I should check at the fan forums! Too bored to check I guess!

Bored or busy?  Can't figure out if that's a typo or not.  Good luck with the binding - post pics when done!

Just completed my list, I would upload it here for anyone to see, but I can't find how to do this here.

By the way, anyone has a similar list for the JD Megazine?

Hey, this is great! I would give you a "LIKE" if that were possible. There really should be a button for that here somewhere.

I don't own any of the originals, but this particular topic is one that I'd been wondering about in relation to the size of various reprint collections. I knew the older 2000 AD progs were bigger, and in particular relatively wider. It's an issue of concern to me because as most of you are probably aware, Rebellion's trade paperback collections are standardized as far as the height and width, and this is generally not much of an issue when reprinting material from progs 1371 to present, but the older stories look a little cramped when printed at the standard TPB size.

So you see, I really would like to have most of the stories from the earlier progs (pre-1033, but most especially pre-520) reprinted in a larger size. I have the IDW Dredd hardcover collections, and the Rebellion A.B.C. Warriors/Ro-Busters hardcover collections which are the same size. I wish more early material was reprinted in this format.

I don't have access (in the U.S.) to purchase these at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what are the dimensions of the Judge Dredd Mega Collection (these are hardcovers, right?)

Oh, and one last thing I just thought of -- can someone add the sizes of Starlord, Dice Man, Judge Dredd Megazine (I know this one varied over time as well), and any other original 2000 AD spinoff titles they know of?

jpentz

I am repeating and, a bit, expanding the question I asked above in the hope someone can provide some help:

Anyone knows the different changes in size of Judge Dredd Megazine and Crisis, and at what issues those took place?

Those volumes are 195mm x 253mm. Spines vary by book, but the volume I just pulled off of the shelf (47) was 16mm.
