Given that Joshua thought it was cool when V blows up the parlament building and likes such characters as Rorschach and The Comedian. I think he'll be quite alright.

He shouldn't have that much problem with the later volumes of LoEG either. Especially not if he's already read volume 2 where [spoiler]Mr Hyde[/spoiler] rapes [spoiler]the invisible man[/spoiler] till there's but bloody pulp left of him.

Just hoping his parents are there to describe it to him, some of the things he spends time reading.
