General / Re: Anyone prefer Finn over Slaine?

If you don't like Warriors Dawn, which is IMO the pinnacle of 2000 AD's offerings, maybe Slaine the King or The Horned God?  If that does not do,  just leave the character as a lost cause.

Finn started life in Crisis, and that might colour my perception of him, I didn't adjust to him being a supporting character in a political comic turning to a green warrior/demon mason fighter, in 2000 AD, but what do I know, I like Colony Earth!

Other Reviews / Re: Read a comic for the art - Camelot 3000

Great art, wrapped in a poor attempt at an 'Epic' tale. Bolland's pencils appear in an issue of Warrior, and IIRC he didn't leave the inker much work.
Back to the original point, worth reading for the art alone, yup, especially if you are a Bolland fan, but his other less well know stuff like the Actress and the Bishop and  Mr Mamoulian, is far superior.

Pictures when its (hopefully) done please!

Film & TV / Re: The 13th Doctor

The Capaldi episodes are the ones I'm am most familiar with, and they are enjoyable. The two older children who badgered me to watch it, said the Matt Smith Doctor was their favourite, and watching some, he has a certain presence, although it might be a bit annoying after a while.
Anyway, forgive my ignorance, but would it be possible for Matt Smith to come back and play the Doctor, presuming he even wanted to?

Sweeny Toddler was created by Leo Baxendale in Shiver and Shake, and the artist most identified with him is Tom Patterson. It reached it's best (IMO) in the mid eighties with Graham Exton on writing duties, with covers like the (in?)famous Judge Sweeny Toddler .

Ken Reid is incredible, and the great thing is there is so much more material than Faceache. 'Martha's Monster Make Up' is basically a female Ricky Rubberneck, Tom Horror's World (word play at its best) and in the football comic Scorcher, he contributed various single page football related tales for a good few years. But the best is his single page illos, 'Creepy Creations' in Shiver and Shake and 'World Wide Werdies' and 'Wanted' in Whoopee, a collection of these I would love.

This would interest me far more than the Dredd collections. I have most of the Dredd tales in various formats Titan, Eagle, Best of, Complete, and Casefiles, I couldn't justify shelling out for another copy of a Dredd story I wont read.

However, a collection in Hardback, fortnightly, with Bad Company, Kingdom, Red Seas, Halo Jones, Absolam(SP?)  Ace, and yes Ant Wars, and even my guilty secret Colony Earth, I'd get this.
Ooo, How about tenuous 2000 AD material like The Angry Planet (its sequal, 'Mars Force' was earmarked for 2000AD) and Mind Wars?

Help! / Anyone with Saturday Dredd Cutout's from 1982?

As the title might mislead, I'm not after the Dredds.

Joker (not the Batman villian) drawn by the great Did Burgon from Whizzer and Chips is supposed to have appeared in the Daily Star in 1982. I wondering if any of the forum member with the cutouts from this time could confirm if Joker did appear and a scan too if possible!

You are spot on, its by Ortiz and more incredible art.
I have two Comic Archive in the works at the moment and that is eating my time, plus some other hush work so no immediate plans for the Fifth Horseman, but it is on the wish list. There will be  a reissue of the Tower King in the same format as HOD in the next few weeks.
