I guess they're kind of retro futurist/art nouveau type things: I always felt there was a kind of backward-looking-ness about the regime in the comic, harking back to a cosy 1950s ideal which I thought would be a shame to lose in the film, but I guess these reflect that quite well. I seem to remember in some of the set snaps the 'Voice Of Fate' was being promoted by retro posters, I guess it's like a pastice of that.
