Lady Festina

So many covers, so little time... And because of a complete lack of snow here in the last 36 hours, I'm at work and therefore can't listen to a damned thing.... C'mon weather gods, help me out....

In return for suggestions so far, I can highly recommend:

Michelle Shocked singing Johnny Cash's One Piece at a Time
The Fall's version of There's a Ghost In My House
Arctic Monkeys rather splendidly covering Girls Aloud's Love Machine (worth a download)

and all of the stuff that Led Zeppelin used to play to pad out their live gigs when they didn't have much of their own material....

QuoteThe Red Army Choir doing 'So happy together' or whatever it's called.

They do a ZZ Top one too, don't they? Gimmie All Your Lovin', I think.

I can't believe I forgot these gems of covers

Ladytron - oops (oh my) - PLEASE download this!
Klaxons - It's not over
Heart - Rock and Roll
any of Seu Jorge's Bowie covers
Senor Coconut - Smoke on the water
I was going to procrastinate but I think I'll leave it till tomorrow

Mike Gloady

Seu Jorge's Bowie covers are pure joy - as is Senor Coconut's Smoke on the Water.

I would also suggest "Naughty Girls Need Love Too" by Samantha Fox (guaranteed to brighten up that eighties playlist) and Camper Van Beethoven's "Take the Skinheads Bowling" (although that may just be me).

I really like it, even though some magazines panned it when it was released. If you're interested, check out my review for voivod.net:

Anything by Richard Cheese.
Hurrah. Thought his new album was a bit lackluster though.
