Damn, I hadn't even spotted that wee tiny sliver in Vinewood. But yeah, that Motel has been the source of my woes. I'll finish the last story mission and see if I have any better luck.

That same bit stumped me for AGES.
Feels good -real good- getting that 100% territory control.
Pause and savour the moment with an expensive drop of whiskey like Walt White at the start of Breaking Bad season 5.

Currently working through Lego Lord of the Rings on 360 and X-Com on PC.

Lego LOTR is what happens when you cross a Lego game with Skyrim. Fetch quests aplenty in addition to the usual puzzle/platform formula. Perhaps not as many unlockable characters as, say Lego Harry Potter, but the world feels bigger than the previous games by some margin. Good fun, but I can't help but feel the series lost some of its charm when the characters started talking. It did make for one well-deserved belly laugh when one NPC started cribbing lines from Skyrim.

X-Com is excellent, but dogged by persistent interface problems. Often a menu will either not appear or jam open, effectively stranding me on one screen. That aside, it's great fun. Perhaps not as deep as the originals, but that's modern gaming for you.
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Mortal Kombat 9 (I think its up to 9), I know its been out every where else for a couple of years but we only just came out of the dark ages and now have an R rating for games so it can finally be released.  Damn fine fighter, surprisingly in depth engine and ridiculous over the top violence, lots of fun and it was released extra cheap because it was so old, $30 arsom.  Shao Khan is a spamming c*&t though, why is the final boss in every fighter so cheap, don't get me started on SF4's cheating bastard.

Couldn't help myself and played The Last of Us again.  If anything, it's got better, as on this playthrough I noticed that the chain of events that you play through at the beginning
are experienced in reverse at the end
, which is a neat narrative device to establish the eventual emotional catharsis of the main character.  I suspect I am now officially spoiled where game stories are concerned.

Great Giana Sisters - now this is a game I certainly wouldn't ever have expected to see again.  Originally slapped off the map by Nintendo's legal department thanks to similarities to the original Super Mario Brothers, like its great-grandaddy the current iteration of the game is a simplistic side-scrolling platformer where you jump on the heads of baddies to kill them while making your way from left to right.  This being a next generation title, of course, it's been vastly updated from the simple game mechanics of the 1980s and now you have three buttons to push instead of one.  Very simple to play, unless you like Mario games I can't see it gripping you as my mind was wandering a bit during it, but the graphics and sound are great.

He parked his shiney black van in the woods near the open Bawn area's entrance. The engine stopped, the door opened and he hopped out. It was a clear night. A full moon hanging high in the sky with the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees of the nearby forest.

He was in his homid form, pure white hair hanging over the edge of his eyebrows, tall and regal looking. Dressed in custom made dark leather boots, leather trousers, leather duster etched in mystical wavey lines. A customised semi-automatic Pistol on one hip and a Fang dagger on the other.

His boots, clothes, weapons suddenly meld with him as he sprouts hair all over his body, dropping to all fours. His back arches, with bones popping and shifting. A tail springs from his lower back and grows longer. As his hands and feet recede into paws, his ears grow more pointed, standing upright, his mouth enlongates into a snout, teeth sharpening into canines as it does.

Now a stark white wolf!

He strides forward, towards the wooded entrance and raises his snout letting out a haughty Howl of Introduction.....

This is Michael 'Blood on the Moon' Romanov, Born of Man, Ahroun, Cliath of the Silver Fangs and I seek who is in charge of the Sept of the Calm Waters.

With his snout still raised, he pauses briefly and lets out another another arrogant howl.....

I 'Blood on the Moon' seek entrance into your inner Bawn area and will wait here until somebody comes forward gives me invitation.

After that, he lowers his snout, standing straight and very still, staring intently towards the inner Bawn area. Yet, keeping his ears swiveling, paying attention to everything around him as he waits for a reply.

This is my character's introduction, my first posting in the World of Darkness Forum game called SENECA RISES. Based on White-Wolf's Werewolf the Apocalypse table-top role playing game. All you need to have, to play. Is the Core Rule Book and the Players Guide. It would be helpful to have the Thirteen Tribe Books. Though they are not nessesary.

The game itself is set around a Caern ( A sacred site!) and the nearby township at Finger Lakes, near Seneca, close to New York in America. In the game,  you are a Werewolf. A Garou as they call themselves. You belong to one of the thirteen tribes. You can be born either of Man, Wolf, or a Deformed Metis (A born Werewolf!) and under one of the five Auspices. The New-Moon, Ragabash, who are Tricksters. The Cresent-Moon, Theurge, who are Seers. The Half-Moon, The Philodox, who are Judges. The Gibbous-Moon, Galliard, who are Bards. The Full-Moon, Ahroun, who are Warriors. Sworn to protect their sacred sites, their Caerns from being corrupted. They fight demonic Banes, mutant Fomori, and insane Black Spiral Dancers. (A fallen Werewolf tribe!) in their misson to survive the enevitable Apocalypse.

I started playing almost two weeks ago. After creating a character using the rules books mentioned above and the additional house rules they have supplied. Found on their website, where the game is played by posting your characters actions on the forums they have there.

This is the site! You can read more about it here. SENECA RISES. You need a account on the website before you can access forums where the game is played. The people that run the game. The forum moderators, are very patient and helpful. I think they might be accepting more players. Though they were nearly capped last time I checked. So if you are interested. Hurry, before those lasts slots are filled.

Last of Us: half way through and loving it. Not a fan usually of escort game (Ico being the exception, of course) but this is a good 'un and Ellie is a great character who actually made me laugh out loud a couple of time (the stolen gay porn mag and when she finally learns how to whistle).

As Blood on the Moon's ears home in on the Wyrm's minion's approach. He sniffed for foreign and out of place scents. His eyes glowed ferally, staring off in their general direction.

Blood on the Moon, his left hand, drawing his Fang Dagger from his belt & holster. Raising the dagger into the air. He held it high, proudly howling a warning of wyrm's approach to the other Garou gathered around him in <GT>"It is I, Blood of the Moon, Born of man, Cliath Ahroun to the Silver Fangs graces this gathering with my mighty presence, vessel to the blood of the very first Garou kings and heros.  Sworn at this hour to guard Echoes from the Past - Rhya from the foul Wyrm's approach in my one of my most sacred of duties to  Gaia. Let them come! let them try and take this Caern. Let them try and disrupt our most sacred of rituals. I shall prevail. They shall not. I shall enrich my blade in deeds of violence, this day!"</GT>.

With those last words, Blood on the Moon lowered his Fang Dagger into a more defensive position. Warily eyeing his Garou companions, wondering who they are for the first time since arriving. Before returning his attention to the Wyrm horde's approach.

A low growl rumbled down in Blood on the Moon's throat...

As he waited, Blood on the Moon deftly rotated and spun his Fang dagger with his fingers in a superior display of weaponry......

2013-06-29 02:24:34 Blood on the Moon rolls 7 dice to Weapon Display Dexterity (4 Dice) + Melee (3 Dice) 6,5,8,3,10, 6,4 (4 successes)

OOC(Sending dice roll to the Storyteller and since the Wyrm Minions are approaching to confront us, do we all gain a point of tempory Rage.)

This is another excerpt from Seneca Rises. Posting my character's last actions before the centre of Caern ( Our Sacred Site!) gets invaded by various entities of Wyrm. ( A corrupting force of destruction and decay!)

I hope he survives.

On a bit of an online kick at the moment so got two Free to Play games off Steam

Star Trek Online. Took an hour or so to get into it but loving it now. Very cool space battles that make you feel like you're using a big ship not a fighter. Lots of nerdy bits for the fans and pretty good story missions in between the interactive bits. Away team missions fairly basic but not bad enough to spoil the thing overall. If you're a trekkie I'd recommend.

Team Fortress 2. Big, fun, frantic shooter. Only been playing the capture/defend missions so far but for a free game this rocks. One of the few I've played where I dont get annoyed at how crap I am as everyone seems to blow up a lot.

Of the two, only been tempted, and caved to spend money on the Trek one. Think I paid 3 or 4 quid. Got some in-game cash of which I used under half to unlock additional bridge crew slots on all my ships. Not bad when I've already got 30+ hours out of it.

You too have discovered the crack cocaine that is Star Trek Online? It's amazing isn't it? I still haven't caved in in regards to spending real money, mostly because I don't have any, but also I remember spending loads on City of Heroes only for the server to get shut down.

shaolin_monkey

I had to stop playing Star Trek Online - it was looking like it was going the same way as my World of Warcraft addiction.  It took me six years to wean myself off that, and I wasn't going to start again on another game, epic space battles or not.  ;)

GrudgeJohnDeed

Ive just finished Crystalis on the NES. Its now my favourite NES action rpg, its better than the original zelda imo! really cool story and graphics, great fun to play. I think Nintendo looked at Crystalis when they made ALTTP on the snes, its like the missing link (sorry).

Yeah, just brilliant for a freebie. Tagging up with mates online is trickier than you'd like but fun once you sort it out.

On the freebie kick I'm also playing quite a bit of the free Trackmania Nations Forever game on Steam. Free version makes you sit out every 6th game as a spectator. I can live with that

Keep an eye out for me in there if anyone plays

I've been having a blast with Hotline Miami on the PS3 the last couple of weeks.

Man, what an awesome game! I love the whole Drive-esque aesthetic and the punishing, fast paced gameplay really gets the blood pumping. Highly recommended.

GrudgeJohnDeed

hotline miami is cracking isnt it!! although i ended up wearing the mask that means theres more guns in the level, finding a gun as early as possible, firing it to bring the enemies to me and gunning them down as they came through doors or rounded corners. it felt like i was cheating! very effective. made with game maker too, which means theres hope for all of us.

radiator

I find the lethal doors or the dog mask the most handy. Relying on guns is too risky, especially early in a level when you can get swarmed and die very quickly.
