Those boots are too small. 😉😉

Possibly a nod to A Question of Judgement?

Rogue Judge

That cover looks great, I am very excited for this issue! Being new to 2000AD, this will be the first prog I purchase! I figure it will be a good place to start reading. I am most looking forward to the Dredd and Anderson stories and especially the Rogue Trooper story, as well as art from Bolland and McMahon!

According to CBR:
The 2000th issue of "2000 AD" includes:

-A special one-off Judge Dredd story from creators John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra
-Pat Mills and Kevin O'Neill reunite for a special Nemesis the Warlock story
-Psi-Judge Anderson has another psychic case from Alan Grant and David Roach
-Sinister Dexter hit the road, courtesy of Dan Abnett and Mark Sexton
-A mysterious prisoner has a tale to tell in Rogue Trooper: Ghosts of Nu Earth by Gordon Rennie and Richard Elson
-Brand-new identity-theft thriller Counterfeit Girl by Peter Milligan and Rufus Dayglo debuts.
-Plus, interlude pages from Brian Bolland, Mick McMahon, Dave Gibbons, Robin Smith, and more.

That's lovely.

Recently picked up a pile of Burnham's stuff digitally, and i'd love to see him take on a Dredd story.

Lookin' good! Oddly enough I think it'll look even better with the logo and text in the empty spaces.

It's funny how details like that stick with you. I often think of that funny Dredd detail if I tie my running shoes too tight.

Dissenting voice! Dissenting voice!  The Dredd is very loverrly, but the '2000' looks like Joe has learnt how to blow elaborate fart-rings.

Didn't he do one in one of the free comic book day issues?

Fungus

Burnham did draw a decent Dredd, by Tharg I think...

Seriously? I'll have to hunt that one down.

Loved his work on Batman and Officer Downe.
