My wife wants one for either birthday or xmas...did get her a little one a few years ago but she couldn't get on with it as you couldn't really tell what you were playing and the controls were too fiddly so getting the right album was tricky as hell....any way she "lost " that one but would like one that can display the songs, albums clearly and be easy to use with her arthritic joints...

can anyone recommend one less than £50 that fits that criteria ?

cheerses in advance and I've only got 14 days for her birthday.

What was the brand/model you bought for her previously?

My go-to music player is a Sony NWZ A-25 series.  It's quite a bit more than 50 pounds though (but you may find a refurbished earlier 15 or 17 series for considerably less).

Sony also make less expensive music players - some that have a small display that shows track title, etc.  Perhaps something like the Sony NWZ B183B? (34 pounds).

I guess it also depends on what music software your wife uses in in the background.  If she's a fan of iTunes, you might want to consider a refurbished iPod of some kind?  If she's just dragging and dropping her music onto a player - then you have more options.

I guess it's also worth asking what type of phone she has.  Many of them do a more than admirable job as a music player.
