Originally bought and signed when they were doing the watchmen signing tour, it's not in pristine condition, but it's in good nick.

Watchmen signed by Gibbons is easy to come by (in fact Forbidden Planet still have them for £10.99, which is where I bought mine several years ago) but considering Moore will likely throw a copy of Watchmen in your face and have you escorted out of the building I would say this is surely near to a holy grail as per signed things go? At the very least double the £100 that normal signed Alan Moore books go for I would have thought.

In that case I have at least two Holy Grails in my collection of signed Alan Moore books.  :D

It's not so much an issue of Alan refusing to sign copies of his DC Comics work - as far as I know he will sign them even if he won't have them in his home anymore - but rather that Alan's public appearances are few and far between so it's more a logistical exercise of putting the books in front of him.

I've no idea how much a signed anything by Alan Moore is worth, although I do have a lot of them  - Watchmen, V For Vendetta, Lost Girls, Absolute LoEG, Black Dossier, Jerusalem, etc. - but then I wouldn't sell any of them anyway so it's a moot point afaic.
'Life isn't divided into genres. It's a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel ... with a bit of pornography if you're lucky.' - Alan Moore

The latter ones the main problem is getting him in to a situation where he'd sign something (I know he does the odd magical performance, but I don't imagine he'd appreciate fanboys/girls wanting signatures at those).  I wouldn't dare approach him with a DC or 2000AD book - except possibly the Tales of Telguuth he wrote an intro for a few years back (what was the story with that, anyway - if it was written just for that then it's the only work he's ever done for Rebellion).

Alan has always supported Steve Moore's work.
I think this was in tribute to him.

As someone who's seen Alan give a moving reading at Northampton Museum, only for the first person to go up with a Watchmen clock to sign - I can understand his position.

He was, of course, perfectly polite to the clock bearer.
I'd rather have his signature in the Bumper Book of Magic in 2019!

I think I'd have to dig out my copy of Maxwell the Magic Cat Volume 2!

I'm the same, I realised my single copy was signed by both so quickly got that nice Mr Higgins in it too, first printing but well read. Not selling it either.

I've always felt that the concept of  "a reading copy" is the true shibboleth of the nerdly classes.

Hey come on, how many copies of Apocalypse War or the Cursed Earth do most of us have?

Yeah, selling is unlikely I guess, I think it'll remain passed on to someone who gives a monkeys when I cark it, along with my letter from bill watterson.

Mr proudhuff! Hello! Thanks for introducing my shy self to mr gibbons and ezsquerra at the 40th anniversary event. Much obliged and a beer owed if ever our paths cross again.

Alan was kind enough to sign this under Dave Gibbons.

I noticed it said watchmen the movie.com later.

I'd take a copy of Watchmen up to him and ask him to disown it for me.

Obviously I wouldn't do that.
