For me...

1. Judge Dredd (goes with out saying)
2. Durham Red (from my childhood, and I've just finished the Scarlet trilogy, my new favourite GN's!)
3. Harry Exton.
4. Finn.
5. Johnny Alpha.

These may change once I delve deeper in to 2000ad!

Andy Lambert

Let's see...

1. Judge Dredd of course
2. The Dark Judges - hope I can count them all as one
3. Nemesis The Warlock
4. Rogue Trooper
5. Johnny Alpha

WhizzBang

1. Judge Dredd
2. Torquemada
3. Sam Slade
4. Nikolai Dante
5. Slaine

Although I very much enjoy the strips, Johnny Alpha and Rogue never really struck me as having that much character to them. Johnny is particularly over shadowed by many great supporting characters (Durham, Wulf, Middenface, Gronk) so it is strange the strip struggled so much without him.

Oh, go on then. Limiting myself to one character per story:

1: Torquemada
2: De Racine
3: Judge Giant Jnr.
4: Ace Garp
5: Devlin Waugh

Tricky, but.....

1:  Dredd / Johnny Alpha
2:  Dredd
3:  Johnny Alpha
4:  Dredd
5:  Johnny Alpha

Dark Jimbo

In no particular order, and limiting to one character a strip -

Judge Dredd
Nikolai Dante
Mek-Quake
Torquemada
Gene the Hackman

Very good question. I reserve the right to change my mind next time I'm asked... indeed in 5 minutes time BUT for this single moment in time I'll go for...

1. Nikolai Dante
2. Torquemada
3. Judge Dredd
4. Sinister Dexter (yes its cheating but...)
5. Zenith

Before I read the strip I did think that it was just referring to one person, a scary bloke called Dexter.

Dog Deever

1. Johnny Alpha
2. Judge Dredd
3. Middenface McNulty
4. Sam Slade

There's a whole slew of 'characters I like' that would be very hard to put into some sort of order after that- main characters and supporting characters alike. I used to be really into Slaine but more recently Slaine (to me) appears to be much less about Slaine the character and more about adapting and retelling ancient Celtic mythology and while I find that interesting in itself (being familiar with a lot of the source and interested in how Pat adapts and reframes it), I can't help that Slaine the character has lost something along the way. It's like he's become more of a vehicle for those tales rather than the protagonist of the tales himself, if that makes sense. Not really a criticism, more of a general observation. Bill Savage is great too, also really strong supporting characters who add colour to stories work well for me- Hoagy and Stogie, Michael Ness, Wulf Sternhammer to name a few.
Just a little rough and tumble, Judge man.

In no particular order:

Dredd, Middenface, Zenith (or possibly Peter St John), Kano (or maybe Thrax), Torquemada.
And yeah, Sláine the way he used to be - cheerful and loutish, not mopey and grim.  Horned-God-era Slough Feg was a great character too.  And Medb when Bisley painted her, just because.

Everyone loves these High Fidelity lists.

I'd go for;

1) Judge Dredd
2) Nemesis / Deadlock (dons shades )
3) Danny Franks
4) Peter St. John
5) Hammerstein

HM) Judge Anderson

How on earth has this thread gone for so long without anyone mentioning Halo Jones?

Anyway, this week they are:

 • Dredd
 • Halo Jones
 • Anderson
 • Zenith
 •
Freely
/Lawson

NapalmKev

Dredd.
Dirty Frank.
The Gronk.
Big Dave.
Finn.

Honourable mention to the depiction of 'God' in Canon Fodder.
