A fine month for ideas and artwork, I must say! I suggested this month's theme with the idea we'd see a few characters other than the usual favourites represented, and I've been delighted to see a brilliant mixture of both.

I feel bad for the ones I haven't picked as my top three choices - there were so many, but since three is the limit, here goes...

1st. James London - Ampney Crucis Investigates: The Dark Judges
I LOVE Ampney Crucis and I LOVE the Dark Judges, so this piece scored highly already on bringing these two together, but it's made all the more brilliant by the fantastic execution which carries a distinct D'Israeli style with unusual but vibrant colouring. Top marks!

2nd. MikeD - Caballistics Inc
Great to see this 2000ad strip represented (see also Goaty and Dog Deever), I had to choose this one because I just loved the demon and the way it's lit with a sickly, eerie glow. Really well done.

3rd. Uwe De Witt - Tarot
I've been juggling third place between this, Darren Stephens and Leigh S, but this won in the end because of the inclusion of so many characters, wonderfully realised in the inspired use of tarot cards which needs to be marketed from the 2000ad shop! Apologies to Darren and Leigh!

HMs:
Darren Stephens: Deadlock
Leigh S: The Haunting of Sector-House 9
Paul Somers: Nemesis & Death
Alan Byrom2: Deadlock
Anthony Coppin - Torquemada

Well done to everyone, and good luck! ;)

Top three could really have been in any order, and it was hellishly difficult to choose between them....

James London - Ampney Crucis - It's a really nice drawing and is right on the nose thematically. Bonus points for choosing a character who rarely gets an outing in the art comp.

Leigh S - The Haunting of Sector-House 9 - I like the composition, the Grud Key branding and the line work. Great stuff.

Uwe De Witt - Tarot - So many lovely details, and some real drawing chops on display.

HM's Alan Byrom1, Dog Deever, Goaty, The Legendary Shark and Paul Somers

Darren Stephens

Quality turn put this month, kudos to everyone. My top three are :

1: Uwe De Witt. Fantastic idea, beautifully realised!

2: MikeD. Likewise. Really impressive work indeed.

3: James London. As above!

HMs to everyone else, I can't pick. ;-)
