Did they really have Stan Lee (the 2000ad character!) punch reality into existence as wikipedia claims? Is the story really as bad as the summary makes it sound?

Your mileage of 'bad' depends on your general opinion of Al Ewing stories, really - it's pretty par for the course for one of his strips!

Can't say I was the biggest fan of Tempest though. Never quite clicked with me. Ewing kept his trademark wackiness to an absolute minimum for his Dredd work, as befits the established Wagnerian tone of the world - Tempest seemed to be a way for him to cut loose and do something a bit more Zombo-like within the confines of Dreddworld. Just not quite sure it worked.
