Hello chaps.

Just received a copy of the 1987 Eagle annual which contains a 13th Floor strip. I can't quite figure out who the artist is though - pretty certain it isn't Ortiz. Any ideas?

Not sure but looks a little like John Stokes maybe?

Ah, you might be right.

Cheers.

That'd definitely be my guess, too.

But why would anyone really care all that much about credits unless it's for a credits page?

It's John Stokes.  Really underrated artist.
Marney the Fox from Buster has some amazing art by John.

Marney the Fox is rather good, isn't it?

Might make a nice collection for kids. The black and white art might be a barrier for some though. NOT suggesting recolouring!
Furys Family is another of similar vintage with incredible art by Denis McLoughlin worth checking.
