Awesome. You can even see parts of the xenomorph's exoskeleton. You've even got the correct movement of the creature. I applaud you on your detailed sketch.
It's a fully matured xenomorph, so I would assume that this is based off either AVP or aliens (alien 2). But from the movement of the creature (a stalking crawl) I would go towards the idea that this was based off aliens.

Over on The Weekly Themed Art Blog, the new theme was 'bounty hunters'. Having not drawn anything new for a while I decided to start off with just colouring up an old one from a couple of years ago

but I wasn't happy with the pose so decided to start from scratch and repose the figures.

After settling on the pose, I then decided to draw it all up on MS

Thank you for your time

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Thanks, mate! I did design it off the Aliens film. You'vce got a really good eye! Do you (or anyone else) fancy having a go at guessing which Dredd story I sketched these from?

Sorry for the sizes of the photos in my last post. Here are them again resized to fit the screen.

umm... I couldn't guess for the life of me. There are too many dredd story arcs to pin point this one scene.  I don't remember one with a hover cycle like that one... having said that, I keep getting the 90s Judge dredd movie popping up in my head, but I can't for the life of me remember if there're any hover cycles in it.

p.s. sorry about the long wait for a reply, I've been hitting my head against a wall to get my work done.

It reminds me a lot of a Simon Colbey style Dredd. If so then which story??

Jabberwocky

Thanks for guessing guys. Both sketches are based on images from the 'Long Hard Road' story which was written by Matt Smith and published by IDW as the Judge Dredd Year One mini series. The artist was indeed Simon Coleby. Good spot, amines!

Some odd head sketches from today.

And this is what happens when a writer, who can't draw to save his life, starts to doodle in a monotonous class.

(also, I apologise if this exceeds the image size.)

This is as far as I got then abandoned ship. Based on a Swamp Thing cover.

Never ceases to amaze me how many brilliant enemies Dredd would regulaly kill off. He'd get through a Marvel Universe worth of characters in a matter of months.

Oh well, at least I got some valuable practise in.

Heh, the curse of the art comps continues, eh?

I really had to force myself to finish my entry this month. That initial enthusiasm is so quickly overtaken by self-doubt...!

What art comp? That was a self-initiated project... er, yes, art comp blues. I eat, sleep, dream deadlines for work. So even more of them in my rare spare time for fun – that doesn't seem to work out for me.

Nice work Iraina btw.
