I have enjoyed the many Judge Dredd epics over the years and these have covered many different aspects. I was wondering if there ever was consideration given to an alien invasion of Earth, as this seems to be one of the few things that hasn't happened to Earth yet? Judgement Day came the closest with a worldwide Zombie attack...

I think the magazine is up for upgrade and face-lift.

The current progs are over refined and the photopaper spoils easily.

If that's ever gonna happen again, as I know it has in the past. My own current favorite incarnation of this magazine would have been the one before this one.

A return to the days of good quality paper, when e days is over refined and tthrillpower was more pure and abundant. Thats what I want. Perhaps few starscans and whatever else was used to fill out the old magazines in the early ninties.

Well, if you remember which prog that the Judge Dredd story 'Haunting of Sector house Nine.' was in the middle or near the end of that run. Thats where I came in.

They were the bog roll progs and I surely miss those. They were real Thrillpower. Though I few of the ones I own are alittle tattered now.

Of course they really need a change, so that they could survive and keep up with other comic magazine trends.

I do prefer the run of 2000AD that come after they improved the paper slightly. As I said above, they were the ones that came before what we have now and after the ones that came after toilet paper additions.

My favorites had the more sturdy, slightly glossy cover papr with the duller paper in side. The ones we have now are so glossy that finger prints show up real easily. The cover is the same as the paper inside.

Once I have some more spare time on my hands. I might look through the cover archive on this site to document when and at which progs the changes occured.

Unless somebody who wants to beat me to it,  would like to speak up. ( Write-up!!!)

As I said above, they were the ones that came before what we have now and after the ones that came after toilet paper additions.Have to disagree, the improvement with 1078 was not "slight", it was a huge improvement, the revamped Durham Red which started in 1079 really benefitted from it.
Also, progs prior to 1078 have visibly yellowed, whereas 1078 and later still look white, only a direct comparison with current progs shows they aren't quite as "bright white" as they once were.
