How is that ironic?

I love the 'just 25c' on the cover

> How is that ironic?

I was wondering that myself... Still can't figure it out.

I think the point matt is getting at is you get the iconic release of Dan Dare along side the release of the major porn icon of Jenna Jameson in comic book form.

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

I was kinda going for the fact that a company called Virgin is releasing a comic starring a mayor porn star.

You could also hope that those new to the character will seek out previous exploits. Both of Dan Dare and Miss Jameson.

Ah, for a minute I thought Alanis Morrisette was posting under Matt's user name.

D'oh! You're right...! So many people use "ironic" incorrectly that it never occurred to me to look for a connection that was actually ironic!

Kicking myself now (metaphorically, of course).

This is looking like a truly excellent release!
I used to read the 80's Eagle and thoroughly enjoyed the strip, it also had some superb artwork, anyone remember who it was drawn by, it wasn't John Higgins was it?
Have never read the 2000ad version, even though I've the Progs to hand, but this is looking like a must buy-I wonder if Ennis will take a post-modernised approach or play it straight, should be interesting to find out.
Anyone read any previews? What's the impression?

Dare in Revolver was Solent Green (Movie Version) for the Thatcherite generation and completely missed the point
