I must be behind on internet speak... Never heard of this kind of e-mail behaviour being called a meme. Spam, yes, not meme.

Somebody should do a Judge Blank-Face with the Cookie Monster, and put the 'you ready Cookie?' over it. :D

It's pretty much the same thing nowadays.. Effectively mass produced joke less punch lines..
You have never felt pain until you've trodden barefoot on an upturned lego brick..

Re-reading my post there I sound uppity... lol wasn't meant to sound that way, though when I get these sort of things in my inbox I think 'spam' and move on. I think they are better suited to a Forum in fact.

But a meme is a behaviour spead as though it were genetic, or a virus, not the result of the behaviour itself. So receiving spam and forwarding it is a meme... but the spam itself remains spam.

You see I'm all for evolving language but if one calls the result of a meme a meme you can't explain what a meme is anymore.

Everyone wanting too see where memes can lead - read Babble - http://judgetutorsemple.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/babble-a-graphic-novel-by-lee-robson-bryan-coyle-eddie-deighton-mild-spoilers/

It's the action of creating the images that spread, along a theme is the Meme, not the spreading of them.

shaolin_monkey

QuoteA meme (pron.: /ˈmiːm/; meem)[1] is "an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture."[2] A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures.[3]

So basically, if we all make enough Dredd memes, and get them out there, we are spreading an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.

Ah, that is a clear explanation James, I am now content in my updated e-language.

Brilliant!  Love them both!  Where can I find that photo of Lex?  My mind is ticking over with plays on the 'Wait for what?' theme...

Thanks mate! I'll have fun with that this evening.

Plus I might make a meme out of it.
