Can't remember offhand how much he was charging at Kapow, £100? £125?

So they're not cheap, but he did take his time on them, so they were more like his finished art than sketches.

... but he did take his time on them...

HA is there any other way for the mighty Bolland.

Steven Sterlacchini

Yep, hesitated and lost. His list was filled very quickly.

Steve Green

But not thrown out of your house, so there is an upside... :)

COMMANDO FORCES

I'm sure you've all seen the add in the back of this weeks prog.

There is a SLAINE 30TH ANNIVERSARY COMPETITION at the convention!

Simply Si

hmmmfp! Yet another convention I can't make, it's been a few years now since I actually made it to one  :(

I can blame Estonia this time!!
Do you have to put something witty here?

Zappanalé

So we now know Bolland is doing the cover for the prog after the con... being a subscriber, I *should* get my copy on the first day of it. I'm planning on going on the Sunday, maybe I'll be able to get him to sign it? Kind of a long shot...

Brian Bolland doesn't work through a sketch list in order.

I got added as something like number 20 early afternoon and got lucky.

I would say that it was a fantastic experience chatting to him for over an hour. The sketch was fine for £100 despite the previous criticisms of the price in this forum.

I'll be at LSCC to finally meet John & Carlos

Steven Sterlacchini

I think it was more the £100 when I thinking about it, but it was still fine considering who it was by.

matty_ae

Yes I think you're correct

£100 was first year of Kapow (2011?)
By first LSCC (2012) it was £150

I do think Brian genuinely still has a place in his heart for Dredd. He still wants to do a League of Fatties story (randomly) and he still ends of sketching 6 generic joker faces every day of every con!

chaingunchimp

Berserker Comics are gona be at LSCC again this year with a snazzy new Fabry sketch book and a stack of orginal comic art (some 2000ad stuff in there if i remember correctly) and i think we are doing some promo stuff where you can win some orginal art again this year.

some good after show pubness at this last year too :)
just too metal

Just booked my ticket for Sunday. Just the one day should be enough...

COMMANDO FORCES

I know most on here are lazy buggers, so here is some of the info that will be of interest to you!

Saturday Panels

12.00 – 12.45          CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF MARVEL'S GREATEST CHARACTERS

2013 commemorates 50 years of Marvel's greatest characters: Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, X-Men, Iron Man (with his introduction in Tales of Suspense #39) and Nick Fury (with his first appearance in Sgt Fury #1). Our panellists reveal the behind the scenes evolution of the characters.

13.00 – 13.45          DAREDEVIL THROUGH THE AGES

David Mack, Bill Sienkiewicz and Klaus Janson discuss the Man without Fear's evolution from "sightless swashbuckler" to their collaboration with Brian Michael Bendis on "Daredevil: End of Days".

14.00 – 15.00          DREDD and beyond: the whole wide world of 2000AD

A chance to see Brian Bolland, Ian Edginton, Carlos Ezquerra, Alan Grant and John Wagner discussing all things 2000AD.

16.15 – 17.15          20 YEARS OF TOP COW

Celebrate 20 years of Top Cow with writers, Ron Marz (Artifacts, Witchblade), David Hine (The Darkness) and Matt Hawkins (Think Tank, Aphrodite IX), who will reveal the remainder of Top Cow's 2013 plans. For aspiring writers, Top Cow's now annual Talent Hunt is quite possibly the only opportunity for unknown writers to get published at an established publisher today. Find out about the 2013 plans. All attendees will receive a special limited edition Aphrodite, Darkness and Witchblade mini-lithograph that all three writers will sign for FREE!

Sunday Panels

11.30 – 12.15          SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN

Doc Ock replacing Peter Parker as Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man #700 definitely raised the interest levels and the first issue of Superior Spider-Man continues the debate to a new level.  With Dan Slott attending we couldn't resist the opportunity to discuss the event and the reaction of comic readers everywhere.

12.30 – 13.30          COMIC GEEK SPEAK PRESENTS:  CREATORS VS FANS

Members of the audience will have their chance to compete against our panel of creators.

13.45 – 14.45          ZENESCOPE:  GRIMM FAIRY TALES ANIMATED

Zenescope Art Director, Anthony Spay, hosts a panel to show off the pilot episode of Grimm Fairy Tales Animated. Anthony will be on hand to share some details about the pilot and talk to the fans of the comics about what to expect next from Zenescope.

15.00 – 15.45          BATMAN THROUGH THE AGES

In Neal Adams, Brian Bolland, Gary Frank, and David Finch we are lucky to have 3 creators who can discuss Batman's journey from the 1960s to present day.  Don't miss this unique opportunity to ask them about the Dark Knight's evolution.

16.00 – 16.45          JUDGE MINTY SCREENING

With the attendance at the show of Judge Dread creators Carlos Ezquerra and John Wagner, a screening of the not for profit fan film, Judge Minty, couldn't be more opportune.
