All those Titan volumes. I was set to pick those up at one point, but gave up when the first went out of print and rapidly became insanely expensive. I'm surprised Titan hasn't reprinted them.

There seems to be something about Dan Dare reprints that makes them hard to get - one of the first things I did when I first got regular internet access was try to fill the gaps in my Hawk Books collection, only to discover that would possibly set me back thousands even though I was only missing three.

Better grab this one quick, before it starts to transcend the laws of mathematics or something.
The wages of sin are death, but the hours are good and the perks are fantastic.

Impressive display Megabus  :)
I'm leaning towards picking up the DD book, didn't read the stories in '77 but maybe around '81 and the progs aren't too durable.

As for pricing, FP can offer economies of scale, I guess. Amazon too.

Too bad FP are slow as hell to even dispatch the goods, ordered on Sunday and still hasn't even been shipped yet, paid 5 quid for P and P wish I had used Amazon.

I prefer to support the 2000 AD on line store where I can but what I don't understand about it, is that it is often more expensive than say Forbidden Planet.

FP also discount their books across the board, not as heavily as Amazon but sometimes practically to the level of cost, which unfortunately is something we can't do.

Is there any hold up with the limited?
I really don't care but I'd rather not have to wait in for the postman everyday.

There's a note on the shop at the moment: "Current high sales volumes may lead to some delays in shipping, though our staff are working hard to make sure that these are short as possible"

Thanks. So no delay on those that pre-ordered the limited edition over a month ago.
just normal malarkey in getting them out.
Cool. Thanks for the update.

It seems to go in phases.  A few years back a single Hawk Book would have set you back the best part of £100 with some very peculiar peaks (Terra Nova trilogy was quite scarce / expensive for a while).  I keep my eye on prices just out of curiosity and they seem to have dipped.  Troutmark in Cardiff have had a fullish set for the best part of a year now.  I asked how much the Reign of The Robots Volume in the window was going for and was told it was £45.  This is similar to what I've seen on eBay for a while.  Having flicked through the Titan volumes I would go for the Hawk volumes any day but then I had the advantage of picking up quite a few when they first came out / were not quite so in demand.

What would be great, and I think I've mentioned this previously / elsewhere, would be if they then reprinted the Eagle 80's stories with Ian Kennedy's spectacular artwork.  That NBC suited soldier cover has to be one of the greats.

Considering 2000ADs current ability to just about surprise and excite me with any new announcement I kind of hope they do at least loot into reprinting the New Eagle DD material.

It would be nice - although is a pain to reproduce as a lot of stories are one double-page spread, and then a single-page (Or sometimes half-page, with an ad at the bottom). Then, later on, they started putting the first part of the story on the cover too...

Maybe some sort of A3 flipbook format...

Steve Green

The 2000AD years also has the front page thing to deal with, although it's the entire page (plus logo) etc.

It's part of the charm really.

As for the ads, maybe some annotations from the people involved, in a similar way to the parts of Pat's interview in the 2000AD volume.

No, sorry auxlen.  This is the Dan Dare strip that was published weekly in 2000AD when it started in 1977.

I'd also like to see the 80s Eagle Dan Dare collected.

Good shop Troutmark. It was there twenty years ago by chance that I finally found a replacement for the Prog 1 my mum had got rid of (along with all my other early progs in 1977) for the princely sum of £50. At the time my wife was shocked that I could/would pay that much for a single comic, though she obviously knows me much better now.  ;)
