Well that happened.

I was already losing interest in CBR, the odd thing did come up and it was the home of a couple of great related Blogs like Comics Should be Good. They have however gone for a re-design and ... well... wow...

have a look see what you think.

No  I don't like it. I thought the older version was easier to read on my phone but this to me looks a bit of a mess...doubt I'll visit it much now.

The Adventurer

It's like every smartphone friendly news site out there. It's functional. And the forum is still normal.

I honestly can't remember what it was like last week. I only ever read a couple of columns on Comics Should be Good and that's been a hideous experience due to interstitial and pop-over ads since their last redesign. While this looks pretty bland it is, like Adventurer says, just one more site optimised for phones.
We never really die.

Well I am only bothered because of Comics Should be Good, and more relevantly, The Line It is Drawn which is my favourite art thing outside of the forum comp.

I can't say it appeals much to me, but it's not going to stop me visiting the site. I'm more irritated by CBR's recent habit of splitting articles across multiple pages by default (you usually get the option to read it as one page, but not always, and it's still annoying.)

Yeah apparently its being 'folded' into the main site now. I'm assuming the same for Robot 6, though haven't seen that confirmed.

All the new format does is remind me there is a depressingly high amount of Deadpool of the market.

Fungus

Was painful to view by phone but isn't now. An improvement.

There's an excellent article by Angie De Blieck Jr of Pipeline (who has abandon the vessel CBR and taken on his on voyage in a smaller boat I might just be following).

He brings together some pretty long understood issues BUT suggests an alternative. I'll be following his site closely.

Mind has there ever really been any comics book journalism of note? Certainly from the websites like CBR and Bleeding Cool!

And at least they seem to be tagging CSBG stuff now.

Yeah, it's a real pig to navigate now.

Still, it seems now more than ever proliferated by superhero fluff that I have almost zero interest in, so no loss there.
